If you looking for something different, relaxing and are prepared to just go with the flow this is the place for you! Accommodation is basic but more than comfortable with air con in rooms and deco to chat about with friends. Don't go into a rural area and expect all things to work perfectly...chill in the tonic pool and enjoy a long lazy lunch at the Prawn Shack on Saturday and return for a fire pit braai in the evening - absolute bliss.

Room Tip: Pump house for a little romance, Penny cottage only sleeps 2 couples as no privacy in third room area!

What a wonderful discovery this place was, I loved every nook and cranny. The interior and exterior design is incredible, you can’t put your camera down. A favourite was the old prawn pools that are now crispy, blue little swimming pools. The views and location needs to be experienced, situated on the banks of a big river. Rooms are beautiful and comfortable. This is one of the most unique places I have experienced, I can’t wait to go back!

Room Tip: ASk for one of the front rooms

I have been looking for a place like this on the Natal Coast for 5 years and AT LAST! A place where you can enjoy nature and relax in a rustic but very neat environment. And EVERY staff member was extremely friendly! Only 1 1\2 hours from Durban.....this is a gem for a quick getaway!

Loved the vibes here! The folks were friendly, the aircon a welcome relief and the views of the lagoon were great. Just down the road from the prawn shak so makes a great place to stay if you heading there for the long lazy lunch.

In rural Zululand, this is probably beyond the experience of most hotel goers, but is an awesome experience. The rooms are converted sheds with very comfortable and clean beds and eclectic decor composed of old bits and pieces from the former prawn hatchery. The theme is 'rustic chic',which is a pretty good description. Lovely ambience and location, and a bizarre mix of "backpacker meets luxury bed".
