This place is awesome. It is well worth a stay. I wish we stayed 2 nights instead of just one. Situated on a beautiful farm next to a river where Mark and Anne Marie rehabilitate animals. It is very clean. Mark and Anne Marie are the best. The breakfast is delicious (best we had)! The room was cozy. The bed was very comfortable. They have their own maps to give you to help you navigate the sites around the area (Priory, Kilkenny, etc. If you are the adventurous type, Mark will tell you about a climb of a ruin that is awesome. If you are lucky, Mark will also show you the home in which he built by hand (unbelievable and beautiful craftsmanship). We actually spoke with another guest that planned their trip around their stay here (I get it!) . The Priory is very cool place to see!

Room tip: We stayed in the Brennan room. The bathroom is a bit small but fine for average builds. A large person may find it a bit cramped.

Stayed here with our three children, 11, 10, 6 yrs. Both my daughter and I left with a few tears. Boys wanted to stay longer. Robin who is running the farm while the owners are away is wonderful. Such a genuine person and soft natured. He took such good care of us and the kids. We couldn’t be more appreciative. The owners are lucky to have him. Kilkenny is a town you don’t want to just pass through. It’s unique and special with so much charm. This farmhouse was a peaceful haven and beyond beautiful. I will have to return to Ireland again just to stay at this retreat!! We stayed two nights but wish we had stayed three. I am so grateful we got to experience this guest house and the beautiful town! The ruins of a beautiful monestary are just around the corner, so is the Dunlow Caves and the town center of Kilkenny!

The Lawcus Farm and Guesthouse was not just a lovely night's stay, it was an amazing Ireland experience. Mark and Ann-Marie have created a slice of heaven in the Irish countryside and welcome the world in to enjoy it fully. The moment we arrived, we were invited to make ourselves at home, introduced to the many animals on the farm, and provided a tour of the property. Mark then offered his handmade map of the area highlights and recommendation for dinner, drink, and sight seeing. Our girls were also invited to bottle feed the lamb, help feed the horses, and try to retrieve eggs from the chickens. A delicious breakfast was lovingly prepared to order by Ann-Marie to nourish us long into to the day. We only stayed one night out of our 10 day trip, but we talk more about Mark, Ann-Marie, and their gorgeous farm and amazing hospitality than any other experience on the vacation. Thanks so much for the unforgettable Irish experience!

Marc and Anne Marie make you feel like family the second you enter the grounds outside of Kilkenny in Stoneyford. Beautiful grounds, comfy rooms and Anne Marie can COOK! The hike around the grounds along the Kings River visiting their amazing managerie of animals was so special, we felt like we really experienced Ireland. Personal highlight was bottle feeding a baby Lamb they rescued. Nearby Kells Priory is a stunning ruin and beautiful walk. We will be back!

Lawcus Farm is the real thing. We stayed in the charming treehouse and felt like we were miles from anywhere. So quiet and comfortable. The breakfasts were cooked as we watched in the big kitchen and were wonderful. There are farm animals nearby, and I even held the friendliest little lamb. Our hosts were so welcoming and warm too - just like old friends.
When we go back to Ireland, we're staying here again!

Room tip: The old farmhouse is lovely, but go for the treehouse if it's available.
