We live close to Detroit but decided to spend a night in Detroit proper to get a sense of the new revival occurring in this great city! For our overnight stay, we chose COZY KING and could not have been happier. Alex and Jenny have revived this 1925 home in a residential area on the East side and made it into a 4 bedroom rental, which also includes access to the downstairs kitchen, living room, basement with laundry facilities and a shared bathroom. (Evidently, this summer they hope to re-model a second bathroom and do further minor repairs on this once abandoned home). Our very clean room had a microwave, refrigerator, hair dryer and one of the best mattresses we have slept on. You definitely need transportation to get to and from the downtown (I did see a bus sign but am not sure of the frequency) which is about a 15 min drive away. The neighborhood is safe. It is so easy to self-check in once you get your door code from Alex either via email or text. All in all, we highly recommend this place!
a very clean small room with coffee maker some coffee and sugar, nice to have coffee after long trip. also has microwave I don't use, but I am sure ok for most people.clean bedding with lovely comforter. the small house is in a charming neighbourhood.everything far away, so a car is a must since there are very few buses and you wont get any help from the owners which company to take.take checkers and asked for nate. not suited for older people since I didn't bring any none slip houseshoes and the stairs and floors, lovely polished are slippery and sometimes the house is dark at night, when the rooms are all full, the one bathroom could be a problem. great for young people !!
Jenny and Alex are super host and we had a great time in Detroit. The house is beautiful and the room very clean! During our trip threw America we decide to give our award for the best host to Jenny and Alex!
