The house was perfect for our vacation. It was clean and very was taken care of. The location was very great. We enjoyed being off the beaten path yet close to everything . Nice place to relax after a long day. Cool fire pit, gas grill, bicycles, and everything. Amy made sure our visit was trouble free as could be. We would definitely come back.
The location is perfect, less than a mile from Cheboygan State Park and within 15 miles of Mackinaw City. Amy kindly welcomed our 3 small parrots into her vacation rental home. This was very important as we prefer to travel with them. Next to the garage entry is a bathroom with walk-in shower and laundry facilities. Across the hall from the bathroom is an office with two daybeds and desk. This is perfect for pets, allowing a quiet sleeping area for our birds. The kitchen is open to the living room and has a nice sized island. There is also a dishwasher. There are two bedrooms on the other side of the house, one of which has a nice view of Lake Huron. That room also has a door-wall leading to a patio with table & chairs where you can relax and enjoy the view. We look forward to returning sometime in the future!
This was our first apartment/house rental experience, and it was fine. We used the house 4 days in August. We liked the location which was our base for trips to Mackinac Island and Sault Ste Marie, the nearby lake beach, the nearby grocery in Cheboygan, the washer/dryer, the dishwasher. The place was clean, with very few house rules. A pet-friendly place, we didn't see or smell any evidence of previous 4-legged guests. The full kitchen was fine for our breakfasts and one dinner cooked on the gas grill. The cost was about $200 per night ($100 per couple) and it gave each couple a bedroom (plus a third bedroom for luggage storage). WiFi never worked, and LTE coverage was spotty. There was a view of Lake Huron if you squinted past the condo development that went up between the house and lake; not a problem for us, but a first-impression disappointment for an advertised "home with Lake Huron view." Key entry was straightforward with owner instructions, but you enter into the garage and one of the four of us first thought this was the house. Again, it took a minute to orient ourselves. It was a hot weekend, but the air conditioning window units plus fans were OK. Beds were comfortable, and two of the four of us spent time reading in the small back yard. A more-than-acceptable choice as a vacation base-of-operations.
