I've been to this hotel at least 4x in the past. It's convenient and I like it but this particular time had 1 FABULOUS moment (check-in w/Jordan) and 1 not so fabulous moment (upon checkout w/Winnie).
Let me talk about the check-in process with Jordan. He was highly professional, courteous, and personable. He was able to accommodate my requests for an extra pillow and room location. He made the experience great and the beginning of what I thought was going to be a wonderful trip. At least it was from the time and all the interaction had with Jordan.
But let's talk about checkout and why I didn't give this location 5 stars but 4 instead. The 5 stars would go to Jordan. If you can check in during his shift---then great.
I called in the morning to the front desk to ask for a late checkout. Checkout's 11am and even though I was hoping til noon (which I normally get at any other Red Roof), this one said no because extra time was needed for Covid cleaning. I've stayed at hotels during Covid months in 2020 and 2021 and that's never been an issue.
I suggested how about just an extra 15 minutes? Can't you spare that? Winnie at front desk said no. I said, "you're telling me that with the early hour that the maids got in and started cleaning that they wouldn't have at least 1 or 3 rooms DONE by checkout time in case someone decided to check in early?" She said no.
It's not like they couldn't spare the extra time there for me. I mean...11am came and I left but sat in front of my room for 54 minutes (working on my GPS trip coordinates and other things in my car) and noticed that they hadn't even started on my room 54 minutes later. So why couldn't she give me that hour late checkout or at the very least...that extra 15 minutes??
Because of this, I won't be choosing this location again unless I can be guaranteed by management that I could have a late checkout upon checkin.
But if late checkout doesn't matter to you, then still choose this place for the excellent service you get from great employees such as JORDAN.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review on your recent stay at Red Roof Plus West Springfield. I am extremely happy to hear that Jordan was professional, courteous and personable during your check in. Although, I do apologize that your check out experience did not meet your expectations. Please accept our sincerest apologies for not being able to accommodate your late check out request. Unfortunately, on that day we were expecting a large check in and the front desk was not able to offer an extended check out time. The front desk is not aware of when each room is being cleaned by a housekeeper or what room the housekeeper is cleaning next, they only see that they have a large amount of arrivals checking in by 3:00 pm. The front desk tries to give our housekeeping Department adequate time to ensure proper cleaning is being done, especially while we are experiencing covid-19 pandemic. We do normally offer late check outs when we are able to do so and we usually are aware of that the morning of your scheduled check out. Again, we truly apologize for an inconvenience in which has occurred and hopefully you will allow us to make it up to you next time you are in the area. We would love to offer you a complimentary upgraded room type -Premium Room! To reserve that offer you must contact the hotel directly. I had a great experience staying here! The rooms were super clean and the staff and manager were so friendly and accommodating! Loved how close it was to the Bright Nights light show as well! I highly recommend and will definitely book here again!

We stayed over to celebrate our twenty year anniversary and visit the casino. We also visited the holiday light display at Bright Nights. The staff was very friendly and made us aware of their cleaning policies during covid, which made us feel very safe, our room had a sticker on the door making us aware that the room has been sanitized and the room was clean. The beds were so plush and comfortable. Really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this hotel.

I had an amazing stay here! I had an issue with my room key and the manager helped me without a problem! She was so friendly and had a smile on her face the whole time! I would 100% recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a great stay!

I have been facing some very troubling times in my life and the staff at this hotel have become family. So kind and caring in the midst of being 100% professional And making sure this is a clean safe environment where everyone for the most part is following social distancing guidelines. It has been very clean and a worry free stay for me as I have an auto immune disease and I use a wheelchair to get around. Miss Bev the concierge/front desk staff has been a life saver!! She has gone above and beyond the call of her job and it has made my extended stay Here feel like a home away from home. I wish that I could give more notice and say thank you in a bigger way..but this should let anyone know that this is the Hotel to stay at. I highly recommend this hotel and I am looking forward to my next stay!!

Due to covid, I had to stay there while working at a nearby hospital. The staff and manager were very nice and offered me a great rate. My room was clean and comfortable. I really enjoyed the picnic tables because all restaurants had take out only. I was able to sit out side and enjoy my dinner. Thankful for the wonderful hospitality!
