Second annual Wareham trip to Onset Beach. The is a quiet town and the locals that I've met are very nice and friendly. The beach is sandy, the water is warmer and while there folks at Onset Beach, it doesn't get pack like Cape beaches. You can rent paddle boards and paddle to other small islands near by. There are a lot of hermit crabs which doesn't bother me. The beach is free. There are restaurants and bars near by. I can't wait to go back here again next year for an annual trip.

Beautiful sandy beach with a sand bar.Children love looking for hermit crabs, looking for shells and building sand castles. Very pretty scenery. Right next to snack bar, restrooms, outside shower and rent a kayak. Or buy a canal cruise ticket to see and learn about the canal and how it was built.

One side of the point is the bay, and the other is the channel to Sunset Cove. Onset Beach is protected by the two islands sitting in Onset Bay, and the result is one of he most pleasant and family friendly beaches on Cape Cod (yes, the cape still starts before the bridges); Shell Pint is the best spot on a great beach.

My goal this summer is to hit a beach every week. I was referred to Onset Beach by a friend. It is a nice relaxing hidden gem. I went mid week, not crowed, water temp great ,easy to get into and swim . I only did the beach, walk one end to the other. I am definitely going back and plan on doing more of town, beach and take in a canal cruise which looks very affordable.

Our family has gone to this beach several times. Each time we all find it satisfying in our own way. Whether the kids want to hunt for hermit-crabs, play in sand, or the adults want to read and relax...everyone is happy. The beach is clean and sandy...barely any rocks or seaweed. (And restrooms are a stones throw away, :)
