First of all, the entire process of booking our amazing rental home was met with excellent and personalized service from Luke at Del Mar Vacations. I cannot compliment the communication throughout the entire process highly enough! Luke even personally called me about 4 hours early to let us know our rental was ready--a nice bonus as we were a bit early to arrive on the Cape!
As for the home, it is wonderful. The house was clean, bright, and nicely appointed. It was only my wife and me on this particular trip, but we already began thinking about future visits and bringing more of our family with us, as the house was very spacious. It is great for a family vacation!
We enjoyed making fires in the fireplace, and having morning coffee on the deck in the back. The street feels very private and overall, we couldn't have asked for better.
The other fantastic thing about this home is the location! You are literally a couple turns on the back roads from the main artery on the Cape, Rt 6--which allows you to bounce north or south from town-to-town with ease.
You are also literally at the doorstep of the Cape Cod National Seashore, and the Cape Cod Rail Trail, which is a paved pike path that extends for over 20 miles. My wife and I rented bikes and biked to the Coast Guard Beach (about 2 miles along a bike path). We also hopped on the Rail Trail which took us north and south to other towns on the Cape (heading south you can get to cute towns like Orleans, or a bit further to Nickerson State Park in 8 or-so miles). The Rail Trail is mostly flat, and the path to the beach is a bit more ripe with hills--but to give some perspective, my wife is 5 months pregnant and she handled all the biking like a champ!
This was our first trip to the Cape and we feel like we landed a winner by booking in Eastham at this home with Del Mar Vacations...we'll be back!
