“Pet Friendly water view dining with fire pit”

Kingfishers Seafood Bar & Grill
Ranked #8 of 28 Restaurants in Solomons
Description: The elegant dining room of Kingfishers merges artwork with nature. A mural spans the space and is accented by lifelike hand-crafted wooden carvings of Maryland estuary life. All of this overlooks the scenic waterfront of a Patuxent River inlet. Kingfishers is the perfect place to fulfill your business or social event. It is refined enough to have an important meeting but also casual enough to stop in for a beer and some fare after work. Also available is an outside deck, several transient slips, and an upstairs inside/outside bar. Dress is casual, and seating is on a first come, first serve basis. Check the on-site catering tab or call to inquire about room rental and event planning.

We stopped in for lunch while passing through on our way north and were very pleased. We were seated quickly right on the water, and served by a very patient (and efficient despite his multiple tables) young person. The crabcakes were nice and meaty, not the balls of dough with some crab in them like so many other places sell. Their house-made tartar is excellent and the coffee fresh.
The only thing that lessened the experience was when a larg-ish boat pulled up and left the motor running while they chatted with people at the restaurant, blanketing the entire eating area with a cloud of noxious diesel fumes.

I was there Sunday Aug. 30 for lunch. This was the first time that I enjoyed seating indoors, since the COVID pandemic. The hostess was fast, friendly and attentive. Our server was excellent as well. She was wearing her mask, gloves, and kept her distance. My cousin had the fish and chips and I had the crab cake on a ceasar salad. Everything was excellent. I have been dining here on and off for years. The food never disappoints!

The food was okay. We ordered our drinks and we told they did not have Bloody Marys. We ordered shrimp and were told they did not have shrimp. We ended up eating crabcake sandwich and fish sandwich. Both were deep fried. The crabcake had little filler which is good but the crabmeat was stringy. We were hungry and ate it. I all was just okay not great.
