We came the first weekend they opened in March to try the Eggs Benedict. We liked it so much we’ve become regulars and have tried everything on the menu. Some of our favorite items are the Chicken and Waffles, the Chicken Chesapeake Cheesesteak, the Steak Frite and all of the soft crab creations they offer. Chef Paul is very creative and has put together a menu that has a variety of selections. His family works by his side and together they making this a very special restaurant. If you’re visiting Kent County, Maryland do yourself a favor and make your way to Rock Hall to enjoy a meal at The Pearl on Main. I promise you’ll be glad you did!

Delicious! We stopped in on a Friday evening and ordered for takeout. We got the asparagus/spinach risotto, french fries and a pearl salad. Sounds like basic stuff but the risotto was perfect; just the right blend of ingredients. All could be tasted, none overpowering. And the best french fries. Hand cut, not greasy. Salad was fresh as could be. So Saturday we decided to visit and takeout again. This time it was burgers and fries. I love burgers and fries and I have to say that this was the best burger and fries meal I’ve had in a few years. The menu is quite varied and the people eating while we were having our takeout prepared were unanimously pleased with their menu choices. I’ll miss being able to eat at Pearl on Main; sad I live so far away. A very special establishment. Don’t miss

Paul, owner/chef, welcomed us as soon as we walked in. Cozy place . Steak and cheese sub was really steak on a delicious sub roll. Excellent! Lump crab cake sandwich was yummy with all crab meat, no filler. The tomato remoulade on the roll was super. Sweet potato fries and accompanying secret sauce was heaven. Can't wait to return to Rock Hall and have a meal at The Pearl!!

Without a doubt The Pearl on Main was the highlight of our recent weeklong stay in Rock Hall. We enjoyed it so much the first time that we went back again. And again. And again! We had dinner there four nights out of seven and each time we were blown away by the inventiveness and deliciousness of Chef Paul's culinary creations. We generally like to try a new restaurant every night when we vacation, but The Pearl is THAT good, so good that the other local restaurants we tried our three other nights paled in comparison.

Exquisitely prepared and beautifully presented, the grilled prawns and sweet potato risotto, crabby flatbread, John Dory special, jumbo lump crabmeat “martini,” rockfish en papillote, grilled halloumi cheese and heirloom tomatoes, jumbo lump crabcake, soft shell crabs, the ½ lb. burger and hand-cut fries (both sweet potato and French), lemon blueberry cheesecake and limoncello bread pudding were menu standouts. On one of our visits we brought our golden retriever and sat outside. Chef Paul hand-delivered a specially-prepared dish of sweet potato risotto and chicken to our finicky pup who devoured it within seconds.

You’ll go for the food, but you’ll come back again and again because of the proprietors, Paul and Carolyn Brinkley. They are passionate about their food, their family, their restaurant and their town – and it shows in everything they do. We travel all over the world for business and pleasure and we honestly can’t remember the last time we enjoyed a dining experience so much. Needless to say, we’ll be back…again and again and again!

We stayed at a house across the street from the Pearl so we made a few stops. We got coffee to go at about 8AM. Everyone was friendly and helpful even though take out isn't their focus. A very nice take away cup. The coffee was good not great.

We went back for breakfast at about 9:30. The small restaurant was mostly full. Unfortunately the kitchen was deep in the weeds. Shortly after we arrived the chef was out apologizing to customers and it turns out friends and family. The table of six that had come in before us was severed piecemeal with the last diner being served after the first diner had finished eating. Our food was served about a half hour after we ordered. The chef apparently has the sous chef prepare breakfast. The chef mentioned the sous chef was having issues keeping up. Seemed the chef could be in the back helping a little more. I had the chipped beef with sausage. The plate came out scalding hot. I have no idea why it would need to be served this way and someone will eventually get burned. My side of sausage was served on my wife's plate. The chipped beef was very good a little peppery but in a good way. The biscuits were under cooked and doughy. Although the tops of the biscuits were quite hot because they were against the hot plate. My wife ordered an omelet with potatoes. The potatoes were under cooked and the omelet was well over cooked.

We went back for dinner. We were the first to arrive so service was timely. While we were there things seemed to continue smoothly. There were two waitresses. One was the chefs daughter. The chefs wife was working front of house also. It provides a very charming family atmosphere. The charm is balanced by the daughter and the other waitresses lack of experience. I ordered heirloom tomato and cheese appetizer. It was very good. My wife had the crab soup which was OK. For my main course I had the rib steak which came with sliced heirloom potatoes and asparagus. It was all very good. Well seasoned and nicely cooked. My wife ordered the shrimp and sweet potato risotto. The risotto was too sweet. Maybe too much sweet potato? There were only three shrimp with the dinner. They were over grilled but still tasty. Finally we shared the chocolate cake. It came out quite hot. It was very tasty.

Hopefully with a little time the rough edges can be rounded at this charming somewhat upscale restaurant.
