We come here regularly to go walking. Part of the paved 3.5 mile walking trail is along the Chesapeake Bay with the remainder meandering through wooded areas. Check out their website for a list of amenities such as the fishing pier, dog beach, playground, and picnic facilities.

This park is really beautiful and great if you have pets and kids who want to run around. Parking is easy and camp sites are nice, but there are more than your average amount of ticks. We had 7 in our party and 4 of us went home with tick bites. Obviously this is the outdoors and it happens but just be aware and look for them when leaving.

Downs’s Park is awesome! There are things to do for everyone. There are hiking/walking/jogging paths of varying lengths. One has exercise stations. There is very long fishing pier. You can rent pavilions of different sizes for events. The dog beach is great hang out for you and your pets. In the summer on Sunday evenings they are for various concerts. There’s a huge playground for small children. There’s also areas the sea animals who are recovering from injuries. The county has done a great job in developing this part. It has awesome views of the Chesapeake Bay. One of my favorite places.

A great summer spot where the dogs can shred their leash and swim to their heart’s content. With ample parking, adjacent woodland walks, roaming Rangers, and abundant picnic areas there’s something here for anyone that enjoys the outdoors. $6 for all day access feels like a bargain to this pup parent.

Have been going here for years. Best park around. Great fishing pier, doggie beach, pavillions and playgrounds for the kids. Sunday afternoons in the summer time, the are concerts.
