This was our third attempt to have Sunday lunch here. We booked a table for five a few weeks ago, on arrival last Sunday we were taken to a table that was clearly for four people and certainly wasn’t large enough for five adults and not going to make for a comfortable dining experience.
When we raised our concern, it was met with ‘this table is big enough for five and there are no other tables available’. Hoping for a relaxed Easter Sunday lunch we decided to leave.
More than anything we were disappointed with how the staff argued with us. Such a shame, this pub is in a great location and we were really looking forward to sampling the food. We got the impression that they were so busy that our custom really didn’t matter.
Unfortunately, on previous attempts to eat here on a Sunday lunchtime we found the staff very unhelpful and moved on elsewhere. I appreciate that Sunday is the busiest time for most pubs and restaurant - but having enough well trained staff is vital.
