“Pancakes and a chicken hug!”
Reviewed 27 August 2017 for a stay in August 2017

Halfway between Mount Desert Island and the Schoodic Penisula, The Three Pines B&B is the perfect base for exploring Maine's Acadia National Park. Our family of 4 adults and 1 nugget were lucky to rent the only 2 rooms here. Our host, Karen, was very knowledgeable and directed us to some lesser known areas of the park. Every morning, outside, overlooking the water, we were served a delicious organic breakfast. Her applesauce pancakes are AMAZING! Even thought he won't remember, we will forever remember the look on our 7 month old grandson's face as he hugged a resident chicken.

“Three Pines”

Karen's place is in a truly bucolic setting. We found the beds comfy, the lodgings pristine, and the host knowledgeable. And we loved Mrs. Magoo the pug!

“Lovely”
Reviewed 13 July 2017 for a stay in July 2017

My husband & I enjoyed our stay in the 1st floor bedroom. The room was clean & pleasant. We did not have anyone staying over us, and appreciated the intimacy of that as it was our anniversary. Karen is lovely, as is Miss McGoo her pug. It was a memorable vacation and only 10-15 miles to MDI. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious! We highly recommend Three Pines B&B.

My husband and I spent a week at Three Pines, We found everything about our stay to be exceptionally pleasant. We stayed in the upstairs room, it was a beautiful setting and very comfortable. We were able to wake up in the morning and be able to see the sunrise overlooking Frenchman's bay from the bedroom. The room was very clean. My husband and I marveled at the architectural design of the room and whole house. So impressive to know that Karen and her husband had designed everything. Amazing concept for us to be living off the grid, yet knowing it never interfered with anything we wanted to do.

We started each day with a excellently prepared breakfast. The breakfasts were eye pleasing, healthy and very tasty. Us being from the Midwest and typically liking meat, we were uncertain as to whether we would be satisfied with vegetarian based breakfasts, but both my husband and I agreed that meat was never missed. We walked away full every day and seldom needed to have another meal until late afternoon or early evening. We enjoyed a variety of pancakes, French toast, omelets, quiche, muffins, yogurt and fruit, simply delicious.

Three pines was a great location. The bed and breakfast was close in proximity to the Acadia and Bar Harbor area, but without all of the touristy hustle and bustle. We got up in the mornings and drove to these places with ease, but at the end of the day was so happy to return to our quiet, serene, and simply stunning setting. Three Pines has an upstairs apartment and a downstairs room. There was seldom any noise other than nature, sea gulls, rooster, a real piece of heaven sitting on the deck overlooking the Atlantic! Life doesn't get better.

So to wrap this up, the setting couldn't of been better, the room and view were spectacular, the breakfasts far exceeded anything one would find in a restaurant, but by and far, the most remarkable part of the week was the hospitality of our hostess. Karen, Thank you so much for your hard work and attention to detail. Thank you for information and maps to local attractions. Thank you for giving us a tour of the farm and letting us meet your animals. Thank you for sharing your home and heart. The week will never be forgotten, you made it perfect.

“A Emerald North of Acadia”

Just north of Acadia N.P there is in Hancock Maine a hidden gem. Deep in the woods off a long dirt road you'll find a Bed & Breakfast that has chosen to go green off the grid.
Green energy supplies this B&B along with the wonderful charm of garden fresh herbs and
farm fresh eggs for your breakfast.
The proprietor Karen welcomes you with a warm smile and friendly conversation. She has
opened her home with adding two units attached by a porch with a beautiful view of
Sullivan Cove.
This has been our third year staying here and we look forward to many more as we try to capture the beauty of Acadia through my wife's paintings along with friends near by.
