We had a wonderful afternoon sailing on the Guildive. The captains were first rate and very patient. They encouraged our twelve year old grandson to help with the lines and steer the boat. Take this cruising adventure if you get the opportunity.

Capts. Kate and Zander gave us a lovely sail through Castine Harbor and out into Penobscot Bay. It was a cloudy, foggy day, and they turned back into the harbor pretty soon since we couldn't see the shores of the Bay. It was a delightful trip anyway: the Guildive is a handsome boat with an interesting history; the captains too have fascinating life-stories; and Kate regaled us with histories of Castine and its harbor. Zander's sharp eyes found seals in the water and birds for us to see. We took just a simple in-out cruise but you can book longer ones, take your lunch, etc. Locals reported that they sometimes go out on the Guildive too. Don't miss this opportunity!

Kate and Xander are experienced, knowledgable, fun sailors who have built this awesome boating adventure into a wonderful options for couples or small groups. We were so lucky to get out on a beautiful, sunny day - but the water views would be spectacular in any weather. We felt safe, comfortable, and pampered. We're planning our next trip...

We chose the sunset sail on the beautiful comfortable ship Guldive. We had a lovely sail in Penobscot bay. The boat only accommodates 6 people besides captains Kate and Sander which makes for an intimate atmosphere. The captains are very knowledgeable about the area and we saw lots of wildlife: osprey, bald eagles, seals and a family of porpoises. We sailed for 2 hours and the sunset was spectacular. The other couple had 2 small children (6 and 4) who had a blast as the captains showed them how to steer and set the sails. I definitely recommend this activity!

There was plenty of wind for an exciting sail, and that is just what we had!! It's a beautiful boat, built in 1934, and a fun young couple that owns it. They were engaging and took us on a great ride. Hope to do it again next year!! Zander, Kate and Coe were the incredible hosts.
