Location is at south western end of Boothbay Harbor. Five minutes north to Main Harbor area with shops, restaurants, and piers for boat trips and kayaking. Five minutes further south west and you are in the little village of Southport with a small beach area great for wading, swimming and exploring tide pools. A quiet, but convenient location.
This is an older cottage with some remodeling, mostly, it seems, in the kitchen, making the entrance to the bathroom, basement and one bedroom a little tight. The cabinets and linen closets are well stocked . Just bring your own laundry supplies, paper goods and groceries. ( There is a Hannaford supermarket 10 minutes away.)
I was with my husband and two sons, 10 and 12. We wanted comfortable, but not frilly. Wifi worked pretty good, cell service may be spotty (there is no working landline) Cable channels are limited (we actually enjoyed a retro channel with shows from 60's and 70's) there are a few DVD's and kids VHS, a closet has puzzles and a few games. Not a resort, but you can relax if you choose to. Worth the price for a week at Boothbay!More
