We were just stopping in Bethel as an in-between spot to sleep between eastern Maine and Mt. Washington. The Grand Victorian Inn was 1 of our top 2 (can't decide between 2) of the 6 hotels we stayed in on this 9-day New England trip. Just gorgeous building and big! We stayed in Room 11, which was huge! It had a queen bed with nice sized bathroom, then you go upstairs within the room to a loft with another queen bed! Nice sitting room just outside our room, and breakfast was lovely (and Mary very nice) the following morning. We arrived after the town was pretty much closed up for the night but walked around a little and it seemed a nice little town to visit. Great place to stay!

Beautifully decorated rooms. If you are looking for a lacey, victorian feel, definitely try this one. They do have some check in restrictions, so might be a good idea to contact in advance if you will be late. The staff was polite, and room was clean. I loved the black hand towel for make up..thoughtful!

This beautiful Inn was very affordable and just 12 mins from Sunday River. We enjoyed a quiet evening for a couples mini-vacation in the clean and charming room. Made-to-order breakfast was very filling and delicious. Hosts were friendly and offered good recommendations for dining in the area. Who needs a TV when you’re exhausted from a day of skiing? Appreciated the Victorian decor and quiet appeal of this B&B.

We stayed here MLK weekend with our 3 kids. The inn has been recently renovated and it is beautiful. We stayed in a suite which had a loft bedroom which was perfect for the kids. The staff is wonderful and the breakfast is fantastic! The Inn is within a quick drive to Sunday River and you can easily walk to downtown Bethel. Highly recommend staying here if you are in the Bethel area!

Room tip: If you want more space, ask for one of the suites.

This was a run down inn in town that had once been nice. The owners bought this about 2 months before I stayed there. They are trying to make improvements slowly but the problem is you need to put in about $200,000 in a lot of work all at once to upgrade it. They did get new beds, bedding, towels and sheets which is great. The breakfast was plentiful and had a good variety. The rooms themselves seemed quite small and definitely need work with new paint, surfaces, carpeting, furniture etc.
