Recommended length of visit: 2-3 hours
Owner description: A 90 minute Forth Bridges Cruise on the Firth of Forth depart from Hawes Pier at South Queensferry which is only a short distance from Scotland's bustling Capital City of Edinburgh. A boat trip aboard the Forth Belle is an ideal way to spend any morning or afternoon. Sit on the outside deck or in the heated observation lounge and listen to the guided commentary. Take in the magnificent views of the Forth Road Bridge and the world-famous, recently awared, World Heritage Forth Railway Bridge built in the Victorian era; the beautiful panoramas of the Edinburgh skyline to the south and the Kingdom of Fife to the north and the beautiful island of Inchcolm with its medieval abbey.

I have been on the ferry twice and both times it has been brilliant and definitely worthwhile doing. The island itself was great however I don’t recommend going around it in summer as the seagulls have chicks and get aggressive so you can’t have a walk around the island except from the Abby but on the whole a brilliant trip and is suitable for dogs which is even better.

Lived in the area all my life & wish I had taken this boat trip sooner, so interesting all the information about not only the 3 bridges but all the history around the River Forth, sunken treasures, wildlife on the islands, facts about the construction of the bridges just great would highly recommend it not only for visitors to the area but also locals.

Great value boat tour, you get about 90 mins out on the water, provided with enough history and insights to keep it interesting but not too much that it isn't a peaceful trip. Boat is well equipped with toilets, bar and shop. Plenty of viewing inside and out. Covers all bridges and stops at island. Definitely worth a trip on a nice dry day.

My husband and I joined the Blackness Castle trip at Port Marina. We were a little early and peckish so went to the Canadian Cafe for a snack. We had bagels and tea. Cost £13.20 and definitely not good value. Husband had cheese and ham and mine came with gherkins, not mentioned on menu and lashings of mustard. Yuck. Later on after our trip we noticed the yacht club does tea and meals, all home made and looking fab. Tea was £1.10 only. Over £2.00 at the other place. So if you are in the area I can highly recommend eating at the yacht club. The trip itself was nice and informative, although, we thought we would be able to get off and see the castle. Well no, you don't get off the boat. The cream tea is supplied on the boat. If the scones had been warm, it would have improved matters, also, if the jam was better quality that would also improve matters. It's nice touches like that, that people notice and appreciate. So, to sum up, Don't eat at the Canadian cafe, better food and value at the Yacht Club. The trip is very nice, but you don't get off the boat.

We took our 4 year old granddaughter on her first ever boat trip and all of us loved the experience. The seals and puffins were a bonus and the very informative commentary was excellent. There is indoor and outdoor seating, toilets and a bar selling drinks and snacks. Great photo opportunities to capture all three bridges. We'll certainly do this trip again as it was a wonderful afternoon out.
