Owner description: *OPEN!!! Under construction! Building a new Chateau- but the babies are housed in a temporary building next door! Hold a baby gator at our educational baby gator rescue facility! Our babies are fostered by us until they can be released back into the wild! It's a free attraction that is not to be missed! (donations accepted)

The Gator Chateau was a find! Our 6 year old got to hold a 7 month old gator! This rescue and release program is free. Donations are accepted. You can walk in, hold a baby alligator and get right back on the road or have a picnic and stretch your legs. They also have restrooms. It is just off I-10 at the Jennings exit in Louisiana. Kelsey was very helpful in telling us about the rescue program. All of the gators are released back into the wild when they are about 7 feet long! This is worth the stop! Everyone should hold an alligator once in your life!

This wonderful little stop on Interstate10, about an hour into Louisiana from Texas, will get the kids laughing and learning about the unique critters that inhabit Cajun Country.

They have live alligators and a gigantic snapping turtle. You can actually pet baby alligators that fit in the palm of your hand in an air conditioned setting.

Undergoing a major renovation this summer, this is a “Must Stop” for anyone with youngsters who want to actually hold and pet a baby gator and watch adults get fed.

The park also includes a large pond with ducks and geese.

You can feed ducks as well. Clean restrooms, and a nearby Mexican Food restaurant make this a win-win roadside stop on any cross county trip on I-10.

....And hold a baby alligator! Everyone is super friendly and very knowledgeable about the alligators. They have picnic tables, walking trails, travel center rest stop. Perfect for kids! Right off of I10.

This place is very educational for those of us that are visiting from a different part of the country... The docent was great at answering our questions and letting us hold the little guys....
