“Completely wonderful”
Reviewed 8 September 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We loved our stay in Leonard's wonderful house. He lives next door, and is unobtrusive, but also extremely helpful - not only did he drop off restaurant recommendations and welcome us with wine and bread, but he'd even lengthened one of the beds for my tall husband! The only negative was the house cleanliness, but we have mentioned this to Leonard, so I'm sure he'll take care of it. Otherwise the house layout is excellent, making it spacious and easy to move around in, and the garden has sunny and shady bits, and a BBQ. The 2 double rooms are large with firm beds, and the shower pressure, hot water quantities, and internet connection were all excellent. The kitchen is nicely equipped and easy to work in. The village clock is audible, but not through the white noise of the fans, and the street outside is quiet until about 8am. Vinça restaurants only open for lunch, but there are great dinners to be had in Prades and surrounding villages. The lake literally is a 5min walk away and has child-safe, as well as deeper canoeing areas. The valley is packed withf things to do and see, and the scenery is just glorious. We had the most wonderful week.

Mei, her husband and friend were excellent guests. They seemed to enjoy the house and region. They pleasantly made a complaint which I took on board and bought a Karcher steam cleaner to get a fresher look to the tiled floors. I would recommend them to other owners.

“Idyllic location for families and others.”
Reviewed 16 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

Idyllic location for families and others. Terrific place with a lovely owner. Plenty to do such as hiking, swimming, rafting and visiting beautiful castles. Altough you need a car to reach the places of interest. Highly recommend!

“Perfect spot for young families”
Reviewed 19 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We had a lovely stay at this property in Vinca - the property is in the town of Vinca but I was surprised how quiet it was, with little road traffic noise. We have three young children who loved playing in the enclosed garden - which is small but which has many interesting features (such as grapes growing! and a 'cave' where they found a sabre tooth tiger (a cat)). The property is larger than it looks from the photos on this site, and had plenty of space for all of us. The kitchen is not very well equipped though - lack of baking trays / oven ware which you might need for things like roasting vegetables / heating croissants etc.
The bedrooms were all spacious and comfortable. Lots of great art in the house to enjoy too, as well as a whole shelf of books if you need something to while away the hours. The lake is about 5 mins walk away and has an inflatable slide thingy for kids who can swim, and onshore there was a bouncy castle and you can hire kayaks. Lots of families on the beach although was fairly windy when we were there.
All in all was a great spot to explore the pyrenees from and we thank Leonard for looking after us so well.
