They proudly state that all of the ingredients in their menu items are free of artificial preservatives, flavors, colors and sweeteners. Their menu is indeed a journey through different parts of the world, including the expected Italian-style pastas, an eastern European-style stroganoff, Asian noodle dishes from Thailand, Korea and Japan, and a Latin-inspired pasta with chipotle and adobo. Or, you can simple order buttered noodles. And, they have some interesting variations on macaroni and cheese. If you need a low-carb or gluten-free option, they even offer zucchini noodles (or “zoodles”).
I ordered the Japanese Pan Noodles, which are caramelized udon noodles in a sweet soy sauce, broccoli, carrots, shiitake mushrooms, black sesame seeds and cilantro. You taste the sweetness with the first bite, but then a subtle heat emerges from the background, just enough to balance the sweetness. I enjoyed the dish and found it satisfying.
The service was friendly, prices were fair and the dining room, while not spotless, was clean enough. I had a good meal at Noodles and Company and would definitely return.
