Ever known someone so naturally warm and lovable that they just charmed you off your feet in a moment?.. Ravenwood Hall is that person, only err... made out of bricks.
We were there as a party of 24. No-one complained, no-one said a cross word, no frowns, no bickering... no way, not at Ravenwood. The food was better than most - not top flight but then you are not paying for that here - good sized portions but not extreme, the service was spot on and the staff... well it was like being among good friends. This delightful pile is reached through a very grand looking entrance and long drive lined with black and gold cast-iron posts on either side - very Westminster. But that initial indication (or fear) or stiff formality falls away the second that the hotel itself comes into view and says 'WELCOME' in capital letters. We had a great day, the best family get together I can remember and it was totally down to the irresistible charm of Ravenwood and their brilliant staff. Bravo.

We received a very warm welcome to this elegant establishment by the really friendly staff. The dining room looked amazing. There were lovely log fires in the lounge as well in the dining room which added to the warm, welcoming environment.
The food is really beautifully presented in a very stylish way. My venison was delicious although I felt that there was not very much on my plate. My husband's pork was beautifully and imaginatively presented with a silver covered black pudding ball on top, however, the pork was rather chewy. The duck was a little tough to cut. But the presentation of everything was superb.
The desserts looked lovely although the honeycomb was really hard and difficult to eat. The banana and date pudding looked delicious.
A really beautiful and welcoming establishment for a fine dining experience.

Visited Ravenwood Hall with freinds this week for a meal at lunchtime.....
all four of us had a three course lunch, food was nice but not outstanding, also warm, and not hot. Waited for about 20 minutes after finishing our sweet, and then had to ask if they could clear our plates and serve some coffee. All this came to £152, bit flaberghasted,we thought they did three courses for £19.95, as per the menu. We only had one ala carte between us.
Was it worth the money, no way. would we go again, no way. There are far better and far cheaper restaurant in the area.

Dear User Dennisrm25
Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. I would like to apologise that we did not meet your expectations during your visit with us and I am sorry that the impression you have is that our quality and service was not up to our usual standard. I can assure you that this was an isolated incident and not representative of our normal high standards of service and hospitality, for which we are renowned. There is absolutely no excuse for our food not being served hot. I will be speaking with the Head Chef about this to ensure that it is not repeated.
We hope you do change your mind and come and see us again in the near future.
Kind regards
