Owner description: McPherson Museum and Arts Foundation offers many services to the public. The Museum houses a variety of artifacts: historical artifacts from the McPherson area; natural history artifacts such as meteorites, Ice Age fossils, and regional fossils; ethnic artifacts from China, Africa, and of Native Americans; and fine art, including an extensive collection of Birger Sandzen lithographs and original art pieces. In addition, there is information about the city and county namesake, General McPherson; about the first man-made diamond large enough to be visible, created in McPherson; items from the McPherson Globe Refiners basketball team, the first team ever to win an Olympic gold medal.

Did you know that McPherson's 1930 Basketball ream had two guys on it tall for that time. 8 ft and the other was 9 ft. Won the title for the Bullpups. That was the team name. Awesome art works of all kinds . Plus you can see pioneers that came to settle in the areas. A must see.

This was a great experience for my family to enjoy together while we were in the area for my daughter's college event. We gained much appreciation & respect for this town and greatly enjoyed the creative and engaging exhibits.

I've been a part of small meetings, large meetings, and even large party gatherings at the McPherson Museum. With a variety of spaces available, and an extremely helpful and flexible staff, I'm so grateful that the McPherson Museum is part of the McPherson community.
