Everything is fabulous here. We have dined here numerous times over various day-parts and were never disappointed. Whether for brunch, lunch or dinner, one is sure to find a delicious and interesting choice from their menu. Most recently, their Passport themed menu was sensational and provided us the opportunity to enjoy some delicious and inspired dishes from various cultures around the world minus the jet lag.

An equal contributor to the experience is the service. The sincerity and enthusiasm of the student/staff more than make up for any foibles one might find. Clean, modern and solidly among the best restaurants in Cedar Rapids, The Class Act Restaurant is well worth the drive.

One note: The tenor of the Mother's Day brunch event departs substantially from their normal dining experience. Utilizing the banquet rooms so they can accommodate hundreds of people at a time, it becomes a higher-end buffet with some custom stations. If you don't mind a crowd and buffet-style service, it is quite good; especially so because they can handle last minute diners. But it is not finer dining as in the restaurant proper.

Dear Marc W,

What a pleasure to know you've not only joined us several times, but also for different service periods! As you're aware, the menu items and overall ambiance of the restaurant change dramatically throughout brunch/lunch/dinner; I'm glad you enjoy our offerings throughout all three!

Passport dinners are so much fun, but not only for our guests! Our staff takes great pride in learning something new, preparing the menu, and educating those who are adventurous enough to join us.

Thank you for taking time to provide us with your kind & positive words!

Until Next Time,
Jacob

Captain Ernie,

I distinctly remember serving you a couple days ago! I'm so gad you had the opportunity to enjoy our hotel & restaurant during your layover. Our burger is in a class all of its own. The patties are made with 100% Hotel Kirkwood beef raised within walking distance of the restaurant and the superior quality is noticeable.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your dining experience, your review will be shared with our entire staff.

Keep those skies friendly!
Jacob

Hello Ed D,

"Repeat wonderful performance..." is music to my ears; there is no better compliment than that. There are many fantastic dining establishments in all corners of the globe, I'm ecstatic to find we're towards the top of your list!

Hopefully you've discovered our Passport dinners on the first Wednesday/Thursday of every month. We're taking January/February off, but check back to see what cuisine we'll be featuring in March!

Thank you for your patronage!

Our family dined Thanksgiving day at the Class Act. We were all very disappointed in the plated Thanksgiving dinner. The salads were wilted and the dressing was dry. Desert needed topping and where was the flan? Server was very nice, but forgot items we ordered.

Dear DoubleD004,

Thank you for taking time to review your Thanksgiving. I'm highly disappointed to find that we failed to deliver food & service up to our standards during your Thanksgiving visit. Your feedback indicates that we missed the mark on several points of service throughout the meal, and for that I'm sincerely sorry. Your comments have been shared with the team and will be taken into consideration as we plan holiday events in the future.

The "flan" was on the plate, but in a pureed form. I apologize that our chef's concept was not properly explained to your family!

If in the area again, we invite you to please stop by to test our service & cuisine once more.

Thank You,
Jacob

Wow - we found this place by accident and the breakfast was outstanding. We were just passing through on the freeway and were honestly shocked that this level restaurant was just off the highway. It was delicious but a bit expensive. Nevertheless we enjoyed it very much and would go back in a heartbeat

Hello Bugsy554!

I'm delighted to read about your recent breakfast experience. After all, it's arguably the most important meal of the day! Our dedication to sourcing locally and only using the highest-quality ingredients does occasionally reflect in the price. However, you won't find our offerings at other traditional breakfast establishments.

Thank you for taking time to provide such wonderful feedback. We look forward to having you back the next time you're passing through!

Sincerely,
Jacob
