My wife and I were looking for a comfortable, homey place to stay in Indianapolis for several mid-week nights. We wanted to be close enough to downtown that we could park the car for our entire stay. The Harney House Inn on the Eastern edge of downtown was perfect. We walked everywhere, even visiting the zoo and botanical gardens which were about 1.5 miles away on the West side of downtown. It was an easy walk. The "room" was really a suite with a large bedroom, attached bathroom w/ shower, roomy kitchen and living area. Deb, the inn keeper, is very friendly and attentive. We picked the time we wanted breakfast each morning and Deb served it right on schedule. Deb's daughter bakes home-made pastries each morning to go along with the hot breakfast. Add in coffee, tea and juice and it was a great start to the day. Great location, great breakfast, homey "room" w/ comfortable bed, free wi-fi, and most importantly, a great inn-keeper. If you are spending time in Indianapolis, spend your nights at the Harney House Inn.

Room Tip: This is actually a B&B. All rooms are cozy and comfortable.

Lovely spacious rooms and wonderful hospitality. We stayed in the Garden Room and you couldn't just call it a "room", it was three rooms -- Large bedroom with whirlpool tub and sink in the room, small bathroom with shower and a living/sitting room area with a couch, flat screen tv, small refrigerator/freezer and microwave. Refreshments and snacks available to guests, a large DVD library to choose from to watch from the room if you want to, games to play, plush towels and washcloths (yeah!). A lot of special touches. Breakfast was self serve, but they had eggs, sausage links and homemade cinnamon scones and muffins. A Keurig machine with a variety of teas and coffees available. Incredibly great location! We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning for another trip! I was a little concerned about the window air conditioning being enough, but it was very hot and humid when we were there and the A/C worked great! The room was plenty cool.

This bed and breakfast is located in the historic district of Indy. It's a beautiful restored home. We stayed in the Penthouse suite. Was pretty much an apartment. Had a full kitchen, living room, bathroom, nice closets. Well decorated. Free snacks, movies. Deb, the inn keeper was so very nice. She gave us helpful tips on where to eat. Lots of places within walking distance. Lots of people rent bicycles in this area. We were also within walking distance of the war memorial. If we go back to Indy, we definitely will be staying here. Much better than a hotel.
