“Clean And Comfortable night away”
Reviewed 15 February 2017 for a stay in February 2017

We stayed in Dizzy Deer at Anroach Farm which was a lovely, clean, comfortable room with an ensuite bathroom and a nice little view. After a major satnav blip which added a good few hours on to our journey (through no fault of Anroach Farm!), we were thrilled to get in and find a lovely big comfy bed! The facilities are great, the kitchenette had everything you could need for a short stay away and the bathroom was lovely and spacious with a fab shower. Our only qualm may be that there is one sign outside of the property, which if you are coming one way you can see, but from the other direction it's facing away from you so just keep your eye out! (Although the directions email you receive from the owner is very detailed unfortunaly my other half, the passenger in charge of looking out for places given in the email, was too busy playing on his phone hence getting lost!!) Haha thanks for a great stay Anroach and for helping us get there when we called you for help, we will definitely be returning!

“Great for a short break”
Reviewed 15 February 2017 for a stay in February 2017

Having booked the room for a last minute half term getaway we received all the information we needed before arriving, including directions etc. On the night of arrival we were also informed of snow on the roads on route to the property. Although we did struggle to get to the property due to the snow when we finally arrived we were greeted by a warm, quaint room. As we arrived late we were unaware of our surroundings until the morning where the view did not disappoint from the room, and so took a walk up the rocks behind the property to really take in our surroundings. However, we didn't hang around up there for too long due to the strong winds and so retreated to the warm and quiet room. The property is within an idillic location between Leek and Buxton and offers a comfortable stay. The kitchen facilities are limited but this was enough for our short stay. Further, the shower is on the small size and so was uncomfortable for someone of 6"3. Yes there is limited phone signal but what do you expect within the rolling hills of the Peak District and we did not find this to be an issue. We would definitely return and recommend this property for a quaint and quiet stay in the Peak District.

“Great room for short stay”
Reviewed 2 January 2017 for a stay in December 2016

Had a lovely 2 night stay at Dizzy Dear. Everything in the room was as expected based on the info available online. Very clean, comfy bed, good shower. We went for a short walk from the door and visited the pub 20 mins walk away for good pub grub and rock night. Would stay again.

“Lazy and deceiptful management”
Reviewed 27 December 2016 for a stay in December 2016

We arrived on boxing day, were given instructions to enter the room, we weren't welcomed by anybody.

The tiny room had two small windows, one on top of the kitchen sink, the other below one side of the bed. The promised
"Stunning views from the door, lay in bed and enjoy the silence and the views across the fields" were replaced by a TV, a mirror and a wall one could see from the bed. In the "self catering" tiny studio one is expected to cook food without a cooker as only a mictowave exists.

The various adjectives used by the property's management to describe surrounding naturw are wholly overrated. We visited quite a few areas in the globe, this one was defintely very far from anything "stunning".

We left the following morning and hope to be refunded at least 2 of the pre-paid 3 nights. Since phones do not work in the property (which we were not informed of on the website) we could only communicate with management via email. They haven't acknowledged our emails expaining the reasons for leaving nor expectations for refunds yet.

We informed the owners of herbal tea inadvertently spilling on the bed and offered to put the bed cover in the washing machine. Management replied they'd when we'd be away and they'd sort it out.

There was no "hospitality" in anything at all.

“Ideal for a Weekend Away”
Reviewed 25 November 2016 for a stay in November 2016

We stayed a couple of nights in the compact Dizzy deer apartment. It was very comfortable in spite of the wintry conditions outside. Anroach farm is well located for Buxton and the surrounding moorlands. We took an excellent (if slightly boggy) walk to the Roaches and their magnificent views. Recommended.
