Mirihi is like a tasty candy dropped to  the ocean. I said candy because it is a very small island but it has everything that you can imagine. This island has many advantages for couples who need absolute rest. You can live in the island with bare foot during all your stay. The sand is very clean and soft.

When you enter into your villa a very beautiful Maldivian music welcomes you. Our villa was compact also like the island but all necassary space, furniture or tools were available. Their surprise chocolate sevice makes you happy when you enter the room.

You must snorkel at the beautiful house reef enjoying very rich marine life and you must walk bare foot on the beach to feel the amazing sand under your feet. Do not forget spending time on very comfortable hammocks.

There are two restaurants both are managed by a famous chef Felix. You need to try all menu one by one if you have enough days. You will find a lot of unique tastes. One of the restaurant is over the sea; you can observe the sharks during your dinner.

The staff were very high class and serving with their heart.

I hope soon we will visit again Mirihi for a longer stay.

10th time Maldives, 3rd time Mirihi, just returned last night: Mirihi remains in the pole-position. Completely without worries and bugs, geared for quiet seclusion, great reef, great food, great team, perfect service (incl all organisation, no covid-worries), great bungalow, nice hangouts on the beach and sunset, cooperative fish and birds :).... and the medium-rare tuna for lunch and dinner is something to kill for. Island concept to minimze noise emission is partially overdone though: not even one night to have a nice party. But if you catch villa 21 ... go for your own then :) ... Monsun did no harm, actually we were happy to not have bloating sun every minute, and some clouds made the sunsets to be not from this world ...

Room tip: all rooms good. our water bungalow 21 with absolute tranquillity and seclusion. Beach bungalows great for kids.

I spent another fabulous week at Mirihi on my own, and I am so glad I did. What made me return to this particular island is, above all, the quality of service. Discreet but always available when needed, attentive without being overbearing - a true delight.

It feels like a little gem in the middle of the Indian Ocean, and you can be as active or as relaxed as you want - I managed to read 5 books in a week, get a lovely tan, and eat deliciously throughout (I am a big fan of both coconut and tuna, so I am very easily pleased here).

I have considered trying other resorts in the Maldives, but given my level of happiness with Mirihi, there's really no need, and I am glad to join the ranks of the many delighted returning customers that keep coming back year on year!

Room tip: Water villas for sunrise, beach villas for sunset.

My wife and I spent a fantastic week in Mirihi and can confirm the veracity of all the other rave reviews below. It's a tiny island (among the smallest resorts in the Maldives) with a reasonably well-preserved reef. You'll find there serenity, fantastic food and kind people (Felix the Swiss chef and Alexa from the Front Office as well as all the rest of the smiling and kind staff). But that, you already knew. Let's get into some practical considerations in case you consider visiting (you should!).

Mirihi is a barefoot island. I know you read this in many places, but this one is 100% like that. There's soft white sand everywhere in the public areas, including the reception and the restaurants, so you can safely leave your trusty flip-flops at home. Don't pack those flip-flops. No! Put them down now and back away slowly.

Do choose the seaplane; it's an easy 35-ish minute flight. The difference in price between the domestic flight + speedboat and seaplane is not worth the hassle.

Go there if you like snorkelling - among the islands with a still vibrant reef Mirihi is not too far, but not too close to Male. A lot of the coral reef is bleached as everywhere else in Maldives resorts, but new corals are popping everywhere, helped by the nursery. The house reef is teeming with marine life below the service jetty. One can spend hours looking at brightly coloured fishes and the occasional turtle, eel, stingray & eagle ray or - gulp - sharks (quite a few black tips, white tips and even a grey one if you're fortunate).

You'll see a few herons on the island. They're fun and not easily frightened. One of them is sleeping on the steps in the service jetty. Go and greet him from me.

Half-board is the most rational choice. The breakfast is not as diverse as expected. However, the food is always high quality and fresh (plus great coffee!). Dinners, though, are a little bit crazy. The theme of the dinner changes from an evening to another - from Maldivian to Mediterranean to South-East Asian. In the main restaurant (Dhonveli), the food quality is surprisingly high despite the buffet setting, everything is tasty, and most dishes have some creative, original "fusion"-y touch. You won't taste all the dishes unless you either have a huge appetite or get tiny tasting portions (but why bother doing that). I gained a couple of kilos with nothing for lunch except the occasional ice cream. This is where I get to expose them only false advertising of Mirihi, that the dinner deserts selection is comprised of negative-calories foods (according to Felix). Be vigilant with the deserts selection!

Unlike other resorts where the main restaurant is inside the island and with mostly/solely inside tables, Dhonveli is just near the beach with a perfect ocean view and enough outside seating for everybody. You won't need to go to Muraka, the over-water restaurant unless you want to change the scenery and you're not curious about the evening food theme. The evenings in the Maldives near the water are gorgeous, and they get better with some good food and a beverage of choice. Yes, drinks are expensive, but also alcohol is not healthy for you :) ok, they have an excellent wine list, so I guess one can make an exception ... or three.

To summarize, go to Mirihi for calmness, silence, tasty food, snorkelling (and diving if you're into it), kayaking and just good old lazying around. Don't go there for partying, ostentatious luxury and pretentious fine dining (for that, there are other resorts).

We were lucky enough to have chosen the Mirihi resort for our second week in the Maldives. The place has a limited number of rooms (nearly all water villas) and a philosophy of blending with nature. If you are looking for pools and entertainment this is clearly not the place for you. The island is very small and extremely charming, surrounded by a reef in quite good state considering that corals are practically dead in most of Maldives. Service is personalized and extremely caring. The dive center is great and we had some really amazing dives with plenty of sharks and also a baby whale shark of 4m :). Cuisine was excellent, kudos to the Swiss chef who explains all dishes with great care and passion. Well done to the entire team, our stay was memorable and the place is super highly reccomended!
