Michelin rated food and service in a delightful atmosphere. We had the tasting menu and it was superb. A fitting a gastro-pub, the beer pairings were perfect. Each course was tastefully presented and explained by the knowledgeable staff. Not a misstep anywhere along the way. You owe it to your mouth that the next time you are in Chicago, this place goes on your list.

My husband took me for my birthday dinner on an early Sunday evening and we sat at the bar and were absolutely delighted with this food and beer heaven. The ambience is casual, service is approachable and non-pretentious. If you’re not really a foodie and are expecting large Chicago portions at a “value” you will not appreciate the presentation and every delicate and savory bite or each sip of the complex brew that Band of Bohemia offers. We were blown away by the delectable taste, unique presentation and quality. We shared plates of the oyster trio, the melt in your mouth seared foie gras, the savory suckling pig and the earthy lamb saddle. Be sure to “eat” first with your eyes, then savor each bite. Ask the bartender or server for suggestions on a beer pairing with each dish. At the end of our wonderful experience, we simply could not resist and we ordered the luxurious foie gras ice cream sandwich with homemade sprinkles. This other-worldly dessert was delicious and a whimsical ending to a fun and delightful birthday celebration!!

As should be expected from a Michelin rated establishment each of service, cuisine and decor were superlative. We dined for a special occasion and feel strongly that our higher bar for fine dining was met and exceeded.

All dishes were excellent in particular the crab and lobster dish as well as the sumac based dish. Please see images which should speak louder than my words.

Strongly recommended.

We have been there several times by now, food is consistently good, elegant and every time interesting. Love the fact that we can have a decent conversation as it is not too loud. The interior design is kind of a modern retro style, like it a lot.

My husband and I dined there on a Thursday evening in May, and absolutely loved it! The food is fantastic and the beer was very good and interesting. It’s a small plates place, although they don’t skimp on portions. We started with the eggplant tacos (my very favorite), then had the egg on egg (dreamy), then the scallops (perfectly done) then on to the carrot lasagna (my least favorite - but still super delicious), and finished with the banana cheese cake (do not miss this!). Service was exceptional. The vibe of the restaurant is really neat...romantic and quaint. By far the best meal of our trip during our stay in Chicago.
