It was truly a pleasure to have hosted you for a Chicago weekend getaway and we thank you for sharing this review. Our hotel sits right along the Magnificent Mile, and as you have noted, is surrounded by some of the most exciting retail shops and local destinations in our city. Our team is elated that our recommendations so greatly enhanced your stay and we invite you to visit us again anytime!
My first time in Chicago and the wonderful lady at reception Paula was extremely helpful and the whole time with a BIG SMILE on her face!! Very Pleasant to deal with. It’s very comforting to come to a place you’ve never been before and feel at home.
We thank you for choosing InterContinental and appreciate this review. As you have noted, Paula is truly a gem among many who takes great pride in ensuring that guests have a wonderful experience and feel completely at home. We thank you for sharing these kind words and welcome you to visit us again anytime.
Our stay was amazing, from the time we exited the taxi until the time we checked out we were treated with respect, kindness and professionalism by everyone of the staff. The architecture is just amazing and every floor we stopped at to get photos offered something new and special to see. Our absolute favorite is the swimming pool area. Besides being the largest pool in the chicago area it is also the most beautiful and amazing area of the hotel for photographing. Well i guess it is about as amazing as the rest of the hotel but i love swimming so I'm biased.
When you're hungry check out Michael Jordan's restaurant on the main floor, it's reasonably priced and some of the best food you will have in Chicago!
Pros: see above and multiply by 1000.
Cons: Eventually you have to go home.
Pros 2: You can return anytime you like!
My favorite experience during our stay was actually the checkout and here's why:
Upon checking out i noticed the guest services staff member, Locy, was wearing a necklace with an old coin attached to it and since I'm a coin collector we talked about coins while she did the paperwork. As we were saying our goodbyes Locy told us to hang on a sec and proceeded to remove the coin from her necklace and insisted on giving it to us! Now THAT was the most selfless and amazing act of generosity that i have ever experienced and we hope your stay is as amazing as ours was.
We loved having the privilege of hosting you and we appreciate this review. As you noted, our pool is certainly quite impressive, and it also happens to be one of the most extravagent in this iconic city as well. It is our hope that you had a few moments to learn much more about it and other fascinating facts about our location during our complimentary audio tour. While all of our colleagues exemplify warmth and genuine hospitality, Locy is truly a star among a constellation of many on our team who regularly go the extra mile. It is these selfless acts of service that make our colleagues the best in Chicago and an experience at our hotel one that can be cherished for years to come. We hope to welcome you back very soon - until next time!
The Intercontinental Hotel in Chicago is a great place to stay. Located right on Michigan Avenue in walking distance of many great stores and restaurants. The rooms are very nice and the service is great
The pleasure of hosting you was truly ours and we are elated that your stay was absolutely exceptional. We welcome you to join us right in the center of it all in the months ahead, as we would love the opportunity to welcome you again.
We were guests here from 6/23-6/25/18 Great location!
It was a bustling place upon our arrival. Business meetings and weddings were happening.
We walked over to the registration desk and were coldly greeted by a slim man with a beard, wearing a refined suit and a Louis Vuitton royal blue tie. He offered no welcoming gestures as he proceeded to check us in. We asked a few questions and were rudely responded to. Our confirmed reservation stated we would have a room with a city view and it detailed a certain square footage for the room size. The desk clerk assigned us a room on the 3rd floor. (You might ask, how would a room on the third floor have a city view?) Well, it didn't. In fact it was inches away from the elevator shaft and our view was of the hotels A/C unit. The room was so tiny. We went back to the registration desk and luckily had the front desk manager help us. We were so happy not have had to deal with the previous discourteous clerk. . His attire certainly did not match his business manners. The manager asked to see our reservation description. We were then assigned the proper room for which we paid for.
Our room was on the 24th floor with a corner location.. The room was appropriately furnished and very clean.
We made use of the room service twice and it was efficient.
The pool (picture attached) was somewhat of a surprise. Its certainly was large and the decor was from yesteryear. The lowest depth of the pool was around 4 feet, so this is not a pool to be used for very young children. Perhaps that was the initial intent. The pool was set up for lane swimming only..
The location of this hotel was perfect for us. Sightseeing, shopping, restaurants were just steps away.
Valet parking is available
We made use of the breakfast buffet on the second level. All offerings were tastefully displayed and the staff was welcoming as you walked in.
We enjoyed our stay here despite dealing with the ill-mannered front desk clerk.
We thank you for choosing to stay with us during your Chicago getaway and we appreciate this review. Our colleagues are quite well known for their warmth and genuine hospitality, and we are elated that we could resolve your concerns quickly and provide the exceptional service that is reflective of the InterContinental brand. Just outside of our front doors await all of the treasures offered by the Magnificent Mile and we trust that you had a few moments to explore during your stay. Should you ever find yourself in search of another delicious breakfast at Center Court Restaurant or perhaps maybe a little more time in our iconic city, we invite you to join us as we would love the opportunity to welcome you again.
Very comfortable stay! Great Service!! Upon check out mentioned there was no coffee in room, and apparently the coffee pot was in a cabinet, if we had known that the stay would have been even more enjoyable. The elevator seemed like it wasn't air conditioned, a bit warm!!
It was a pleasure to have hosted you and we thank you for sharing this wonderful recommendation. We are happy that you felt so at relaxed during your visit and invite you to make yourself at home again anytime.
