Where I live, large portions of the lakeshore are cut off to public access due to private property. Chicago city planners did this RIGHT! A great way to get along the city, observe the skyline and people, get exercise and see the lake. Love how it connects to all downtown attractions and beaches so pedestrians and cyclists can move freely without worrying about cars.

We spend a great day riding the bicycle and walking around the lake. The view of the high-rise buildings in the background was great.

I was so looking forward to a nice long walk around the trail. Construction had it blocked off and I never did find my way around the detour signs and heavy nearby traffic.

On a nice day there is nothing better than strolling along the lake, by all the parks on one side and impressive buildings on the other. You'll see lots of people out enjoying themselves, bikers, and families. The trail is wide enough to accommodate everyone. Very fun.

The lakefront trail is a real gem for the city of Chicago. A wonderful place to stroll or ride your bike and see the skyline and the lake.
