Deli type lunch place. Hot sandwiches, Salads, soup. Was served fairly quickly. Had the turkey, Swiss, mayo, tomato. It was very good.

Too expensive and overrated for sandwiches that aren't nearly as tasty as Jimmy John's or Potbellies.

There is nothing like a good sandwich shop to satisfy your stomach pangs and taste buds when you aren't in the mood for steak and potatoes. Lunch at Snarfs is recommended. Located at 600 West Chicago Avenue in the old Montgomery Ward building, this is a convenient branch of a regional chain of sandwich shops that dispense hot and cold sandwiches in a single, counter-serve setting. In other words, I usually buy two or three for the road. Jimmy Seidel opened the first Snarfs store in 1996 in Boulder, Colorado. Today, there are 20 restaurants in Chicago, Colorado, St. Louis and Austin, Texas. Snarfs specializes in coffee, burgers, hot dogs, hot and cold sandwiches, salads, fries, onion rings and frozen custard. You can even get a peanut butter and jelly sandwich or a peanut butter, banana and honey sandwich. Remember those days? I've grown out of them. Today, I prefer corned beef and Swiss, chicken salad and provolone, meatballs with provolone and Swiss, turkey and Swiss and the Italian sandwich, which consists of salami, pepperoni, capicola, mortadella and provolone. But you might opt for French dip with au jus, rotisserie chicken and Swiss, smoked brisket with BBQ and Swiss, prime rib and provolone, New York steak and provolone or old-fashioned ham and American cheese. The salads are top-notch, too...tuna, chicken, cobb, julienne or Italian. Have a cup or bowl of home-made soup. And add a side of cole slaw, potato salad or macaroni salad. You can't beat that for a noon-time refresher. But be sure to take one or two home to munch on during the Blackhawks or Bulls game.

We were so happy to hear that Snarf's had gluten-free sub bread. We went shortly before 4, so there was no line. The subs are toasted and crispy. We have tried to go here before but since they are in the business area their hours are limited. We brought them home to the kids and they can't wait for us to go back. They were delicious with so many options to make everyone happy!

This is for the Oz Park location.

I was seeing a play a half block away from Snarfs, and thought a sub shop should be able to get out a quick sandwich before the play started. Mistake. It took 20-25 minutes from order to delivery. By that time I had to leave to go to the theater. I was standing in line to ask for a refund when they called my order. Meanwhile, at least 4 - 5 individuals who ordered after I had received their food. There was a family of 3 that was ahead of me that received their food, ate it, then left before they called out my order.

It looks like a Potbelly's knock-off, but at least Potbelly's get's you your sandwich in the order in which it was placed.
