This hotel is gorgeous from top-to-bottom. Compared to some of the other five-star hotels, definitely the newest with best interior. However, had minor gripes about my visit:

There was a $6 delivery fee for room service. As if the expensive menu itself were not enough.

Breakfast wasn't available until 6am. Extremely inconvenient for business travelers who have early morning flights out.

This was our first trip to Chicago in 20 months. My wife and I usually stay at Four Seasons but decided to try out the Peninsula.

Wow. Everyone was so courteous and we loved the fact that they acknowledged us with a smile and warm welcome. Laura at the front desk was super efficient and professional. I think we have found a new favorite hotel in Chicago.

Where do I begin? For starters, the service at the Peninsula is unparalleled. We have stayed at several five star hotels around the world and I must say this was one of our best experiences. They are very family friendly and even though it rained for more than half of our stay, between the exquisite suite and the amazing amenities we hardly even noticed. HUGE shout out to Joy and Carrie at the front desk, Anna in reservations, and Gary at concierge for making our stay seamless and for going above and beyond to meet our requests. A very special shout out to Daniel on the night shift housekeeping staff. I was absolutely speechless when he came back to return a $100 bill that I accidentally handed him without noticing that it was folded in between some $1 bills. We usually stay at the Ritz Carlton for our m yearly trip to Chicago but this will definitely be our new destination! Thank you Peninsula for the happy memories!

We had a very nice room. My mom and I were in for the weekend for my sons fiancé bridal shower. After the shower we wanted to have a drink at the bar about 4:30 pm and we were told to go to the bar to have a seat. We went to the bar and there were not any seats available. We went back to the hostess to let her know there we not any seats available and asked about a table. We we informed the available tables were reserved. Super disappointing as guests at the hotel we were not able to have a drink at our hotel. We went to concierge to try and find a place near our hotel to have a drink as we are not from the area and not sure where to go we were hoping they could help us along and get a table at the z bar to have a drink and they were not not as well. My mom had stayed at the Four Seasons and we decided to walk over there to have drink and they were able to accommodate us. We stepped out to stay at the Peninsula as we always stay at Four Seasons and they have our loyalty.

Stayed here just as Chicago shut down for covid for the second time? So it was a strange time to visit. The service was truly excellent and the room was very cozy, overlooking the Watertower. Excellent bath tub. I tend to prefer a crisper more modern vibe, and this was a bit too buttoned down for my taste. But it is a solid hotel marked by truly excellent service. The room service breakfast was delicious.
