The best stay in Wallace

Review of Hercules Inn
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 03 Aug 2024
I used to live in Wallace Idaho and I know the town well. I've stayed in three other hotels there, and there're all fine, but the historic Hercules is a step above. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and decorated with taste and nuance (TNT boxes salvaged from the area mines used for table stands!); the kitchenette is fabulous and well provisioned. Jamie & Barbra have done everything to make your stay here a great one. I believe all the suites are laid out the same; they are very comfortable for a couple but would also be adequate for a family of 4 or perhaps even more. You're close to the community garden and the Victorian homes, and historic downtown Wallace & the Pulaski Tunnel trail are only a short drive away (actually, you can easily walk to downtown from here). The best lodgings in the best small city in America!

Fully equipped rooms/kitchen! Quiet. Clean. Easy check-in and check-out. Very reasonably priced given what was provided. The owners thought of everything you might need for your stay. We enjoyed checking out Wallace. Thank you to the owners.

Very happy with this place. Especially as a gateway or waypoint for the Hiawatha trail or Trail of the Coeur D'alene. Good price for a solid apartment style stay. It is like an Airbnb without the service fee. But don’t expect old cooking oil or a bunch of left behind condiments. Dish soap and basic bath amenities...yes.
We had suite 4 and it was very nice. I think all four suites are similar.
Large entry sitting area, for shoes and storage (two bikes stored). Master bedroom had a comfortable king bed and closet. Full bathroom. Kitchen was huge with many cabinets, cooking utensils, coffee+maker, full stove, standard full sized refrigerator, stainless steel double bowl sink. Living room; two recliners, two tables and a 2nd queen sized bed. All great spaces. Two LCD flat panel tv’s, one in the living room and one in the bedroom, both with DirectTV, many channels. Wifi is okay. 2.6/0.5Mb up/down. There is a large, operational air conditioning (A/C) window unit that worked great in September. There is a hot tub on site. No contact entry and check-in for the Covid concerned.

Room tip: You get $10 off for the 2nd night.

We stayed for one night and the location was great as well as the price. We could walk to everything in town. It's right by the highway, and I was concerned about the noise, but we didn't hear it at all. The apartment was very large and had everything we needed. Would definitely stay there again.

We came to Wallace for a family event and found the Hercules Inn Suite. It’s an apartment! Full kitchen, 2 queen beds- one in a separate master room, and comfortable living room. Wow! All the modern comforts of home and affordable to bring families. We’ll be back to use these great rooms again!

The suites are spacious and decorated in a very comfortable casual style. I felt like I was staying at a nice home instead of a typical cookie cutter hotel. Exceptionally comfortable easy chairs in the main living room area. The kitchen was well equipped, modern, large and they even provided paper towels and dish soap. Thoughtful touches like that made this feel like home. A flat screen TV in bed room and living room and individual room thermostat so guests can be comfortable in any room. There is ample parking for the 4 suites, 2 spots are covered car port. Outdoor hot tub also available.
The very congenial owners are not on site, but just around the corner at their restaurant Red Light Garage.

Room tip: Suite 1 on first floor faces carport and hwy but wasn't noisy, easy access to hot tub
