After spending about a week at the theme parks in Orlando we decided to break up our trip back to North Carolina by stopping off for a few days on Tybee Island. While searching TripAdvisor for a place to eat we happened upon this gem. We were able to walk to it from our condo, which was a treat. Very clean and comfortable interior with plenty of windows to look out at passers by. We started with a coffee brown ale on tap that was really good followed by a chopped salad that was both refreshing and tasty. My husband had the crab soup, which I tasted, and it was amazing. We ended with a shared plate of fried shrimp (out of this world), onion rings, fried pepperconcini, and French fries. So good! Not crowded and very relaxing. Our waiter, Crosby was also very helpful in directing us to local things to do and see. I highly recommend this place!

On a rainy night at Tybee, we were trying to decide where to eat. Lots of restaurants around town seemed to offer the standard deep fried entrees. We took a chance on this new restaurant after a look at their website. For starters, we had the beer cheese hush puppies and the crab soup. Both exceeded our expectations but the best was yet to come. Because we visited with the bartender too long, the kitchen was in the process of shutting down. The owner(who is also the chef) came out to apologize, and offered to prepare a grilled fish dish for us. We told him we weren’t really interested in fried anyway! When he delivered his creation, it was a perfectly seasoned filet of snapper with fresh mixed vegetables-just delectable!! We oooed & ahhed as we enjoyed our dinner! If you are on the island it will be a huge mistake if you don’t try Salt Island Fish & Beer.

No, no no no!! Very limited menu
and a big disappointment. Macalwees was much better. C’mon guys get with what patrons want. Raw oysters, at least 2 pasta dishes and more variety. I wish I could be more generous but honestly is the best policy!

Hi Tony, we understand that we are different from what was here before. However, all of our ingredients are fresh and made to order, nothing frozen. Therefore, we need to keep our menu manageable for spoilage. As for oysters, they will be in season in the colder months. Getting Oysters when they're coming from warm waters increases the chances of bacteria which isn't something we are willing to risk. We are serving the food that makes us happy and are having fun with it. I hope you will try us again

The grilled watermelon caprese salad and salt & pepper shrimp were the best I’ve ever had! Best restaurant we’ve eaten at since being on Tybee Island.
