The cabin was very clean. It has 3 levels top, main, and lower.
The top floor is a bit narrow as it is in the peak of the A-Frame. You have a bedroom with a full size bed, another room that's less private with a pair of twin beds along with a variety of board games and books. There is also a nice small screened in porch.
The main level has a kitchen. It is pretty well outfitted with an oven, stove, freezer/fridge, and sink as well as glasses, silverware and dishes. The provide a good variety of pots/pans so you can cook most things with what's available. The is a sizable dining table one of the 2 bathrooms and the only shower is on this level. There are 2 couches, a DVD player, nice sized TV, and stereo. There are also a variety of books an and a larger porch than the top level. This porch also has a stairway to the outside. The lower level is essentially a large bedroom with a bathroom/laundry room that include a sink and toilet. There is a large screened porch that connects directly to the bedroom. I think this is a king bed on this level.
Overall we really enjoyed this cozy cottage and would like to stay again sometime.
Some things to consider:
When we came it was very cold (low 20s) and late and the electric heat pump system really wasn't strong enough to get the place warm that first night. There are lots of thick blankets and we were warm enought in bed though.
If you are tall, the A-frame design might be challenging for you at the stove and on the stairs.
The stairs are steep and narrow, so if you aren't nimble you might want to consider a different cabin as there are not bedrooms on the main floor.
There is a shower, but no bath.
The cabin is pretty remote and you have to take some unpaved roads on your journey.
I hope this review is helpful. The cabin was great for us, but it may not be for everyone, depending on what you are looking for. If you want a quiet remote, place in a pretty forest setting where those are your main amenities and soaking in baths, and convenient access to shopping and entertainment are not high priorities then this is ideal. It is close to several points on the Benton Mackaye trail and the Toccoa river
The cabin was soo cozy and cute! We felt as if we were walking into a place where dwarves lived. The woods and area surrounding the cabin were so beautiful, peaceful, and enchanting. The added bonus was that the Taccoa River ran through very close to the cabin which is also located in the Chattahoochee National Forest. A very scenic and beautiful place!
