Expensive for what you get. Popped in with my son, started on the second floor (as suggested) walked through some average exhibits to then find ourselves on the first floor by the gift shop.

We looked at each other as said ‘this can’t be it’. Took out the map, to learn that was it. $30 a piece, 20 minutes and book done. Nothing really exciting.

Over priced and average exhibits at best. I paid extra for the penguin experience, which was worth the money.

We brought our toddler here and it was EXTREMELY kid friendly. There are pledges for kids to sit on while looking at fish and tanks placed close to the ground. There is only really one floor of exhibits and then the Splash Pad. The water play was welcome after a hot day, with convenient picnicking areas and shade for parents. We didn't pay any extra for the "dolphin ride." I was very disappointed some Florida staple marine lives were completely missed: manatees, sea turtles, dolphins. Mote Marine in Sarasota has all of these included in their admission price. If you're in the area, drive an hour south if you want to see those specific animals, otherwise the play area will take lots of your time here. Disappointed in the lack of Florida creatures since the name says otherwise.

We got back from a Carnival cruise and had an afternoon to spend in Tampa. We read about the Aquarium and how they will store your luggage for free. We took advantage and stored our luggage while we visited the Aquarium. It is a bit small, but still had numerous things for family members of all ages to enjoy.

Giving this an average rating may be generous. I’ve had the opportunity to visit several aquariums and this one is definitely the bottom of the list.
