Well we were in tampa waiting to cruise on carnival so while we waited we went over to the aquarium which is right accross the walk way @ port of tampa.. The aquarium is nice plenty to see and learn.. If u have small children they really will enjoy the water park in the back ..Food was great .. Bartender made me a nice too.. We will be back

We brought our toddler here and it was EXTREMELY kid friendly. There are pledges for kids to sit on while looking at fish and tanks placed close to the ground. There is only really one floor of exhibits and then the Splash Pad. The water play was welcome after a hot day, with convenient picnicking areas and shade for parents. We didn't pay any extra for the "dolphin ride." I was very disappointed some Florida staple marine lives were completely missed: manatees, sea turtles, dolphins. Mote Marine in Sarasota has all of these included in their admission price. If you're in the area, drive an hour south if you want to see those specific animals, otherwise the play area will take lots of your time here. Disappointed in the lack of Florida creatures since the name says otherwise.

We got back from a Carnival cruise and had an afternoon to spend in Tampa. We read about the Aquarium and how they will store your luggage for free. We took advantage and stored our luggage while we visited the Aquarium. It is a bit small, but still had numerous things for family members of all ages to enjoy.

Giving this an average rating may be generous. I’ve had the opportunity to visit several aquariums and this one is definitely the bottom of the list.
