Many people know to go to Steinhatchee, cedar key or numerous places on the gulf coast of Florida during scallop season, but the Landings at Steinhatchee and, specifically, Paradise at the Landings is a great place to put away your cares (and even your cell phone) during the “off season.”
When the evenings are cool and the fish are biting, the Landings affords a family friendly property on the banks of the river, complete with pool, petting zoo and plenty of dock slips to put your boat in to get an early start. While our fishing trip didn’t bring back much (thanks to our fishergirls in training shouting, screaming and stomping the fish out of their comfort zones), the Landings made it convenient to get out to the gulf and try to put a fish in the boat.
Paradise is a great two bedroom/2.5 bath house in the Landings- it will sleep eight, but if all in your party are adults, six would be comfortable, eight tight (one king bedroom, one two queen bed room and twin/trundle in the living room). Nice sized kitchen with all the appliances, comfy beds and cold A/C- all that you need for a get away from the city. Will definitely visit again!
