Really perfect typical abruzzese meals. Absolutely delicious and be careful of what you order because the portions are important, as always in Abruzzo
Just look at what they call the small deserts, just to discover what they can propose !!! Amazing and as good as beautiful
Let you advice for the local wines, you will be greatfully surprised

Thank Graziella S

Cosy little street doesn't always equal cosy good restaurant, but in this case it does! Very cosy terrace and friendly service. After 2,5 weeks of fish we were looking forward to some nice meat. Had some great vitello and lamb chops and a very nice dessert. Ask for the best bottle of red wine and you definitely won't be disappointed (Montepulciano d'Abruzzo -Bosco - 20€). Tip: bring some mosquito repellent.

Diners at the Osteria al Castello will be familiar with the excellent food and service, not to mention the wonderful medieval setting, and on Sundays, an even bigger treat awaits you! For just €20 per person you are served a luncheon feast fit for kings (drinks are extra, but reasonably priced). The tasty mixed antipasti (including quality meats and cheeses) are followed by soup or risotto and then two pasta dishes. We have eaten Sunday lunch here many times, and the selection of dishes always changes, every one of them delicious. Just when you think you can not eat anything more, the platter of grilled mixed meats is presented, along with roasted potatoes and salad - scrumptious! We have usually eaten so well by now that we do not have any pudding, but for anyone still with an empty 'pudding pocket', a good selection of sweets is available, along with digestivi and coffee (at extra cost). This really is the best Sunday lunch in Abruzzo!

I do not normally write a review a second time of visiting, but I felt compelled to do so. Visiting fiends in Nocciano we returned twice to this venue on our recent visit (18 months from our previous visits). This restaurant has gone from strength to strength.
We had dinner as a party of 8 and Sunday lunch as a party of 4. Both dining experiences were excellent.
Roberto and his team front of house are just great. They are warm and welcoming and very tolerant of our poor Italian. He explains the menu very well and every dish, wine and beer is excellent. Both lunch and dinner were of the highest standard. The chief (Francesco) is just great. At the end of the night he came out to say goodbye to us which was a great thing to see.
18 months on this restaurant has gone from strength to strength. Food fantastic, staff amazing and value for money outstanding. Well done everyone. We will return.

A beautiful setting for a typical Abruzzo meal. The wine was superb, the attention to detail and service impeccable once you find the place!! Advice is to park up in the square and walk down but DO NOT try to drive to the door as you will probably get the car stuck!!

The meal was good by local standards and not too expensive. Starters were large in volume but somewhat missing flavour which was a shame given the perfect surroundings. The goat and rabbit were as it says on the tin but again lacking in flavour somewhat but this seems to be fairly typical of the area.

Special praise for the waiter who wanted to replace the meat dishes but it wasn't required. He was superb and complemented the fantastic wine.

Price was reasonable but would choose the pasta next time which looked superb!!
