Everything was great. Only downfall was the S’mores package. Would have loved to partake with family but fire pit is inside of pool vicinity and only able to be used during pool hours which ironically closes at dusk. I would suggest to have the fire pit moved to a different location so people can use it at night as intended. Other than that, staff was friendly and professional. Would consider coming back.
All aspects of my stay exceeded expectations. The cleaniness was my first impression along with the outstanding valet service welcoming me and my wife immediately as we entered.
The Hyatt Regency Sarasota is an absolute win for the immediate downtown shorefront location. I looked at other properties that would be the most immediate competitors, which were very nice, but the Hyatt Regency is a win for the following reasons:
* You simply can’t beat the location. Simply look at the beautiful pool and how it backs up to the harbor. Immediate across the street was the Sarasota Garden Club, Central Broadway Park, the Van Wezel Performing Arts, etc. - not to mention the Gulf. You could sleep walk to each.
* They have it all, including complementary kayaking, fishing, paddle boats, corn hole, and other games and activities. They even offer free shuttle service schedules around town.
* The deciding factor versus a nearby competitor was the family friendliness of what was offered. Although one or two other properties might have been slightly newer or slightly swankier (you truly would have to split hairs), but the Regency had the family friendly amenities that others did not. Others had great rooftop bar environments or high-rise pools, either a great choice for adults, but my children got an experience they will never forget.
* Class. It can be done right and it can be done wrong. Staying at the Hyatt Regency felt classy, without feeling stuffy.
I would choose to make the same decision to stay at the Hyatt Regency Sarasota.
Due to construction there was no self parking...should have offered comp Valet. Room had a fishy smell and the overall hotel is old and dated.
This is a true review. We stay there in July 19th with my family, I booked two rooms (connected with was a cool option for us). The location is exceptional, you are close to restaurants, shops and local attractions. I was impressed with the rooms, really clean, the AC in perfect condition, rooms very comfortable. The Pool is amazing, not too crowed and me my wife and two kids (10,7 yo) enjoyed every day there.
Customer Service was outstanding, every employee was friendly and polite, front desk extremally fast and helpful. I would recommend this hotel 100%.
Really close from Lido beach, siesta Key and other beaches.
There is $45 charge per day for valet parking, this is not clearly explained in any other site other than in the reviews, although is really easy just to drop and pick up your card in the main entrance, personally I think $45 per day is too expense. The hotel would need to consider a price reduction.
I really liked the hotel, we had a perfect time there, people is really kind and I will definitely come.
