The John and Mable Ringling Museum is hands down one of the most important collection of European art in the country. In addition to this collection, other museums to visit on the 66 acre property include the circus museums.
If you happen to be in Sarasota and seeking a cultural experience, you have to visit this beautiful place

This is a great setting to see the legacy the Ringling family have left the city.
Look for the free entry day a week . Hi light is the circus museum, the gallery is good but coming from Europe not in the league of London and Paris.
The family villa on the wares edge is stunning and well worth a visit . Take the tour to hear all about the family .

I have been coming to Siesta Key, Florida for at least 10 years now and for some reason, I have never been to this little gem. On Monday's The Ringling Museum and Gardens has free admission. That in and of itself is enough of a reason to visit it. But it truly is a great place to kill a few hours while on vacation (who doesn't need a break from the Florida sun in June?).

They Ringling family should be commended for sharing their home and surroundings with the general public. There are some rare pieces of art on display and of course, they have some of the circus items from the past on display as well. I think there's enough for most families to enjoy. They even have a little park for the youngsters to enjoy. Even the gift shop has reasonably priced items for you to get something to remember your visit. And if you like Antique cars there is a Car museum right across the street that is not affiliated with Ringling but I loved it there as well.

Travelers tip- Mondays are free of charge to the art museum only. Mr. Ringling left in his will that the museum must be open free of charge to the public one day a week. It is a nice perk, however, if you wish to see the circus museum or the Ringland mansion, Ca d'Zan, you will have to pay full price.
Any age can appreciate this museum!
The Ringling is a must see for anyone visiting the Sarasota area.

We were not prepared for all of the sites and things to see at the Ringling museum! We enjoyed all that we saw, as did our toddler! He really enjoyed the miniature train/town display. We were sad we didn’t allot enough time to see everything, everything we did see was very interesting and informative!
