The Rays deserve a new Stadium. This place is ugly, outdated
and has bad food. How can a City expect to keep a team with such a poor stage? I am not a Rays fan, but they definately should have better!!

This was my first time at The Trop. In fact, it was my first time seeing a game in a domed stadium. The Tampa Bay Rays were playing the Yankees. Outside it was sweltering so it was good to be in an air conditioned space. Storms rolled in, as well, and we were protected from the elements. There's something disconcerting about being in an enclosed building for a baseball game but I got used to it. The staff is friendly and welcoming. From the security (allow extra time for thorough bag checks and magnetometers) to the ticket takers to the ushers in the venue everyone seems happy to be working there and serving the public. The concourses are wide and airy with lots of food options and large, clean restrooms. Outside food and water is allowed (check the site for specifics). Attendance is among the lowest in the league so there's a minor league feel to the games, with lots of contests and giveaways and fan interaction between innings. There are plenty of opportunities for kids to feel special, including running the bases after the game - something I've only seen in minor league ballparks. The facilities are state-of-the-art and the multiple scoreboards and screens adequately convey all the information needed to enjoy the game, from player stats to pitch types and speeds. Programs are free. Even ticket prices are very reasonable. It's like a throwback to decades past. We used Lyft from our hotel but there are numerous private parking lots surrounding the stadium at reasonable prices. The area is surrounded by highways so access in and out is relatively easy. The stadium has many attractions, as well, which we didn't visit but hope to at a later date. This is a great way to spend an afternoon or evening that more people should take advantage of. It's a shame the team doesn't draw more fans but, for now, a game at The Trop is a terrific value and a fun time.

Monday night game, so not a lot of fans, but plenty of action.
Great to go to a stadium in the summertime and not have to worry about the weather!
Very comfortable, great seats. Took an Uber there and drop off and pick up a breeze. Great variety of food choices and bars and front porch a nice variety. Can even pet some sting rays! 10-0 game so Rays had a great night!

Took in a game to get out of the rain. Booked a row of seats just outside of the private suites. Now that was a great decision! Just over home plate. It was Star Wars night so a bobble head was a free gift. And we had a visit (and photo opportunity) with a costumed Storm Trooper which the kids loved. There was plenty of food options including Dippin Dots! Great time.

PROS:
1. It's enclosed and air-conditioned, and the temperature was perfect - not too cold!
2. The rays tank was novel
3. My husband LOVED the Ted Williams museum.
4. Plenty of parking
CONS:
1. They ran out of seats for the coupon we got from 7/11 so we had to pay $10 more each, even though the stadium was half empty! They really could have honored the coupon after we went to the trouble of finding a 7/11 that actually had any.
2. Traffic after the game was a NIGHTMARE!! Evidently no one was around to direct traffic and it was a major JAM. We sat and waited in a line that didn't even move! They should have had a few workers to alternate traffic lanes, etc.
