The wharf seemed like a good place to get some awesome seafood... right on the water, and kind of a hole in the wall.... should have been wonderful. But no, having been to 2 other local seafood places this week the wharf just does not compare at all.. my grouper was over cooked to death, and then I think they let it die in the window for awhile as well... my wife’s crab cakes and grilled shrimp was even worse... all cake and no crab. Mushy crap to be honest.. we don’t know how her shrimp was, because they forgot to put it on the plate... we would have asked the server about it, except she was gone for 20 minutes fetching me a beer... she got it to me when we were finished and waiting for the check.. the folks behind us has a totally different server, and he was equally as bad as our server. The atmosphere is kinda cool in that you can sit outside and watch the boats and birds on the water.. however, you’ll be packed in like a sardine. The eating area is very small.. which is ok, but what is not ok is the horrible sticky tables. I watched a guy clean one, and he did actually clean it... but whatever is on the tables is amazingly sticky and weird. I won’t tell you where to go that is better, that’s kind of rude.... but just trust me that you’re much better off going somewhere else. The wharf is just simply not good.

The main reason for coming here are the peel and eat shrimp!! The BEST!! We just enjoyed sitting there on the water, with a beverage and just peel away We got the lobster roll too...not bad! Not a big fan of shredded lobster and it could have a bit more flavor! Went back a second time, will go many more times to come:)

Way, way, way casual which is what we love about The Wharf. We've definitely "been wharfed" as their tee shirts say. We go to SPB annually and have been doing so for so long we call it our second home and The Wharf is always a go to. The food is affordable, good and fresh. If you sit outside or by a window inside you get nice views of Boca Ciega Bay, the boats and an occasional dolphin or two. They've got a large, well stocked bar which always has folks, mainly locals, eating, drinking and just kicking back. I do wish they'd get new plates, the ones they have are oldish, marred plastic. See ya next year Wharf.

We were on the back deck for a late afternoon lunch. Watching boats come and go and enjoying some liquid refreshments. Cool breeze.

With family and friends. Everyone enjoyed the food. Right on the dock so you can check out all the boats.
