The beach is a very nice place. You should walk a little if you want to find a place where people are not laying right next to each other. Bathrooms are sparse. But the beach is beautiful.

We love visiting this beach as often as possible. The sand here is wonderful. The water is clean. The fishing from shore is good too.

This is definitely one of the lower key Florida beaches...we were pleased to see a good mix of people there... but it wasn't super crowded. Definitely not the same shelling opportunities of the gulf coast, and they are struggling with changes to the beach after the hurricanes. The army corp of engineers is working to stabilize the beach in some places. The small shells make walking painful in some places, but mostly it's a smooth sand beach. The riptides were very strong the whole time we were there. Overall we were very pleased though... and enjoyed the beach from our rental chairs!

The older boy can fish and there is a bait shop on the pier. The area gets good waves for surfing. The beach needs sand fill desperately and it is supposed to get it this year. Until then there is a massive shell bank and a constant channel and pools behind it. Kids love the tide pools, but the shell beds are painful for everyone. The beaches a bit north are in better shape right now, but hopefully they get this corrected. There is also a sprayground at the pier and showers and bathrooms.

Scenic...clean...well patrolled. Enjoy the sun and water...have fun collecting shells and starfish. Very clean and family friendly. Looking forward to our 3rd visit next year.
