We were headed back to the Jacksonville Airport from the Florida Panhandle and wanted to take a look at St. Augustine. It was well worth the visit and the 44 Spanish Street Inn was the perfect place. Located right in the center of the old city, it was still quiet and charming. Our hosts were superb -- extremely helpful with super personalities. The food at breakfast, served in a garden area in back of the B&B was first class. It was delicious and beautifully presented. Everything you might want to visit within the city center was within an easy walk from the place. The rooms were very clean. So, you might ask, why did I rate it only very good rather than excellent. It really was quite excellent in almost every respect but the room we had was quite cramped. It was fine for a day or two and if you had a single piece of luggage, but not any longer. There were probably bigger rooms in the B&B and, if so, I would ask for them. That said, I would certainly stay there again.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience as our guest with us and others in the TripAdvisor community. We're thrilled to read how much you enjoyed your stay with us and appreciate your recommendation to others. "Location, location, location" applies not only to the real estate business but also to where one stays when visiting St. Augustine... And, as you mentioned, we're quietly tucked away in the center of the best that St. Augustine offers. We appreciate your feedback with regard to your room. You are correct, each of our rooms are different from each other - with no two alike in size or layout. In fact, as we write, we are addressing the layout concerns, specific to your room, you had expressed to us.
Again, we appreciate your feedback! You were wonderful guests and we truly look forward to your next visit - Breakfast will be awaiting you. ;)

Where do I start? 44 Spanish Street Inn was an absolutely wonderful place to celebrate our 15th Wedding Anniversary. The owners, Brian and Emery, took care of us from the moment we arrived. Check-in was a breeze. Room was quiet, bed was quite comfortable. Our room also had access to a balcony overlooking Spanish Street. The chef-prepared breakfast each morning was out of this world!!! Each day we had something different to enjoy (they also accommodate for food allergies/preferences/special diets if needed): Blueberry/Peach pancakes with homemade peach syrup, Homemade quiche, and our last day ending with a delicious Eggs Benedict and a 'secret sauce' for the potatoes. :)
Everything was well within walking distance from the Inn- Castillo de San Marcos, St. George Street, the Distillery, the Oldest House etc. Brian and Emery provided us with some great recommendations for local restaurants/bars. We also loved trying out the Inn's tandem bike or the 'divorce maker' as they called it. Happy to report the bike ride did not end in divorce, and we made our way on the bike to Castillo de San Marcos, around town and back to the Inn.
If you are thinking of staying in Historic St. Augustine, we would highly recommend giving Brian and Emery a call and staying at 44 Spanish Street Inn. We hope to come back for a visit in the future. Thanks to Brian and Emery for making our anniversary getaway so special.
Wow! What a "fabulous" review. Thank you!
Your feedback was so positive and wonderful, we're not quite sure where to start in responding! First, Happy 15th Anniversary! We're honored that you chose us as the place to celebrate such an important moment. Our balcony rooms are quaint and the breezy porch with table and chair for two certainly adds nicely to the charm of the rooms, perfect for people watching or listening to the ambient sounds of music in the air. We take special pride in our breakfasts, whether prepared by our chef or by us personally, a lot of love goes into our breakfast service. Nothing make us more happy than watching our guests make full use of our location... As you discovered, our location is one of the best in the city and is the reason we attract those (such as you) who want to explore the best restaurants, shops, and attractions in the historic district, from right outside our front door!
Again, thank you for leaving us such a stellar review of your stay with us. We look forward to your next visit!

Absolutely loved this place. The hotel is a restored boarding house and has a nice feel. The breakfast was outstanding. What really made it stand apart were the owners. They really paid attention to every detail. They obviously are passionate about their Inn and the visitor experience, and it shows. When we arrived Brian took the time to show us the town map and make recommendations. The restaurants he recommended were outstanding. As I said in the title, we will be back
* Great Guests. You're welcome back! * Forgive us for "borrowing" your review title but it seemed to fit perfectly when we applied it back to you! My husband and I really enjoyed staying at this beautifully restored 1920s bed and breakfast. The owners are phenomenal! We had never visited the oldest city in the US and all of their recommendations were five star. Location could not have been better for walking to nearby restaurants, attractions and shops. The breakfast and service was absolutely wonderful! If you are looking for an exceptional experience this is the place. We will definitely stay here again. Brian and Emery, thank for your hospitality.
Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to share a little bit of St. Augustine hospitality with you! Spending time with our guests who are interested in learning about the area attractions, dining and shopping is important to us because we want all of our guests to have the absolute best time while visiting the historic downtown and our inn. Knowing you plan on returning is outstanding news - we look forward to seeing you both!
- Brian, Emery, and team.
My husband and I absolutely loved staying at this Inn. We were supposed to go 2 weeks ago and I had a death in the family so Emery and Brian allowed us to change the reservations with no problem. Our room, the view and the food were great!!! Emery and Brian were amazing people and we enjoyed getting to know them and the rest of the crew. We can't wait to go back and we will definitely recommend this place to all of our friends and family.
We were very sorry to hear about your loss to you and your family, but are glad we could be something for the two of you to look forward to after you rescheduled. While we can't always make adjustments, you gave us sufficient notice as well chose another arrival date... And, we're so glad you did! You were a delight to host. Thank you for taking the time to leave us such a nice review and refer us to friends and family - the biggest compliment is a referral! We hope to see again soon!
