“So much history”

Castillo de San Marcos
Ranked #15 of 201 things to do in St. Augustine
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 28 June 2018 via mobile

Being from Florida & living in central Florida since 1972 but always make a point to visit St. Augustine & the fort at least once a year. They have limited metered parking in front or on the street. There's just so much history in this story. They also offer cannon firing at certain times. Check in advance! Easy to walk across the street to the old town. Must see!

The Castillo de San Marcos was beautiful. Such great history there. We are so glad we got to walk around the inside and outside. The scenery is gorgeous!

The castle was very scenic, with numerous informational placards. We really enjoyed walking the streets of old town near the castle

Fascinating to see how people lived and survived inside this beautifully built structure! I would definitely advise people to take the time to go and see this! The volunteers were so friendly and helpful!!
