Grand Panama Resort is an awesome place to stay. Our trip included four adults, ages 49 - 62. This is our 4th stay at Grand Panama Resort. The grounds are very well kept, nice covered parking, great workout room, and two beautiful pools. One pool is ocean front and plenty of chairs, tiki hut, and a short walkway to the beach. We rented 1606 for 7 nights. As soon. As I arrived, I knew this rental was a huge mistake! Before I arrived I was told an early check-in if ready. Arrived by Delta at 10:00 AM. Was told the condo had been vacant since Sunday, but not cleaned yet (it is Tuesday). Finally got to check-in at 1:30 PM.
Then I realized the horrible reality that we rented from the wrong company!
I immediately called the Management company. The entire condo was filthy! The kitchen still had food scraps on top of the stove, counter tops, and in the microwave . Hardly any kitchen supplies to cook with. Only 3 salad forks and 3 regular forks. There was no cutlery except for a couple of steak knives. What really sent me over the edge was a filthy coffee maker with mold growing inside the water tank. The guest bath still had shampoo running down the tiles and hair in the tub.
All the walls were scuffed up, dining room chair seats busted out (wicker seats), the sofa had very big water stains (?), and the flat screen had been sprayed with something that destroyed the screen. The patio furniture had bird poop all over it. The worst part of this filthy mess was the floors were so dirty that your feet were actually black and you had to wash your feet before going to bed. Your feet don't get this dirty going barefoot outside! The smoke alarm was missing in the master bedroom with just wires hanging down. There were no blankets for any of the beds (only sheets) and light bulbs were missing in the living room, master bath, and master bedroom.
I requested for someone from the Management Company to come and look at the condition of the condo with two different people. I was told they had already seen it and were planning on painting it when we left. They brought a coffee pot, knives, forks, and blankets. They offered us a $150 discount, but would not move us to another unit, which was vacant that week in the same resort. I also emailed the Management company on the 5th day and requested a g ain for someone to come inspect the condo. No response.
We have always rented from private owners at Grand Panama and we will never rent from this company again. I do plan on reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. We saved our money for a long time for this vacation and we feel like we were robbed. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else!
