The Cove on Ormond beach was our family's favorite vacation spot, but not anymore. First off, don't stay in the north tower. Room was outdated and everything was broken: cabinets, dishwasher, shower (unable to turn on or off unless you are Superman), no counter space in kitchen or bathroom. The South Tower rooms are more updated and spacious and each room has their own washer and dryer. In the north tower eventhough my condo advertised washer and dryer, you have 3 machines to share with the entire building. It was being used the whole 5 days we were there and are driving home with salty/sandy clothes. At the beach with kids, I paid the price of the Hampton Inn and the amenities are nonexistent in the north tower. Second, the water slide is closed down. Kids and I were totally bummed. Tripadvisor should make owners take the pic off website because it's false advertising. Pool is pretty lame without that but shallow end is perfect for kids under five. Third, the staff in the past was an outside presence, friendly with consistency, now it's rare to see anyone but security walking by. Security there is excellent; in the past security went above and beyond to track down and return our stolen boogie board. There are cameras everywhere. Finally, stay away from the concierge; get your free appetizer card and don't look back. If you purchase their "deal" it's very hard to get school vacation dates. If you have to stay at the cove don't pay more than 87$ a night, and stay in the south tower!
