We have been three times to this museum and I can truthfully say it’s amazing, we took our granddaughter in August she loved it, there was something to do or find in all the rooms, the staff are brilliant always smiling and can’t do enough to help you, there is a small tearoom selling sandwiches and cake and certainly don’t overcharge, would I recommend this museum definitely, lots more things to see and do for the cold and dark days/night. Looking forward to going again

If you haven’t been to this friendly museum then you must.
Wonderful few hours for adults and children alike. In the holidays there are endless events (often free) for the youngsters
Also now a very nice tea room

Not the biggest museum in the world but very interesting and taking two children age 11 and 10 can sometimes be quite hard to engage them but they had a treasure map to follow. Lovely coffee and cake which wasn't expensive and the staff were all really nice and welcoming. Plenty of reasonable priced car parking just across the road. Well worth the visit

this local museum has many events throughout the year.lots of things for children in school holidays,at the moment there is a beach,it's a lovely giant sand pit with seating for parents to sit and watch the children.there are many events such as different crafts for children, most of which are free,or very low cost..there is a motorcycle event at the beginning of summer every year, santa visits at christmas ,luckily they have a very good website which is updated regularly, the staff are very knowledgable and always have time to answer questions,a place to visit even when theres no events happening as the museum itself is full of local history and very child friendly.
