Mercato is a open mixed use 53 acre shopping/ residential, business office complex built in Naples Fl. between 2007 and 2009. It is marketed as a mixed use retail lifestyle center. The complex was designed by Atlanta-based Cooper Carry to be a four block long main street, with buildings from one to five stories. Mercato was named after the Piazza del Mercato in Naples, Italy which is a market with artisan shops. The complex was built in downtown Naples to provide people a place where they could live, work, and shop. In 2015 Prudential, based in Madison, New Jersey, paid $240 million to acquire the property. Free parking is on the street, in a back lot, or in the garage.

The shopping center is anchored by a Silverspot movie theater, Nordstom's Rack, and Whole Foods. Shops include jewelry, home furnishings, health and beauty, apparel, art galleries, restaurants, and offices. After walking around my impression was that Mercato was beautifully landscaped with a lot of places to sit although the stores weren't the type that I would usually shop at. I did however really like the selection of restaurants. All of them had outdoor seating on the sidewalk which looked really inviting in the beautiful weather. The Burntwood Tavern and The Pub, a London inspired British pub caught my eye. I grabbed a coffee at Narrative Coffee Roasters and there was a Kilwin's next door so you can grab a sweet treat. Mercato is a really nice place to walk around as long as it isn't raining and I'll probably be back to try The Pub.

This place is more than a mall it’s like a city within a city. It’s an entertainment destination. Yes there’s lots of shopping but that’s not my bag baby. I love the conjunction of restaurants and cafés. Get there early or be prepared to wait especially in season which seems to get longer with every new year.

Was surprised at this mall in north Naples. Some great shops and it was nice walking down the street and also parking directly in front of the stores. Nice outdoor restaurants and also some great bars open at night.

While in Naples, we thouroughly enjoyed walking though this shopping area. Many high end stores. A very nice place to spend a couple of hours. We are a fan of Whole Foods and this is truly one of the nicest Whole Foods we have been to. We wil be back to experience some of the restaurants.
