Description: 75 year oldtime Waterfront Restaurant and Bar with a Million Dollar view. Local seafood. Both local and national entertainment with no cover charge. Recommended by Southern Living, Coastal Living, Florida Travel & Life, Boston Globe, and American Airlines to mention a few. Quality food at reasonable prices. Great place to relax, enjoy the view and perhaps to see dolphins and/or manatees.

After spending the morning fishing we stopped into Bert's Bar and Grill. It was very busy but we're able to find inside seating fairly quickly. Although the food was served hot it did take quite a while to get. Since this was the first time I'd been here and it was busy it's hard to gauge whether this was typical or not. Since we ordered pretty standard fare (appetizers and salads) it's hard to rave or complain too much. Waitress was very friendly and by the number of people in the establishment on a Wednesday at lunch time I'd guess the food is generally very good and reasonably priced.

First impression: not clean, poor service, and not accomodating for smallest request.
Must do mainly tourist business. We live here and won't go back. Plenty of great places on this strip in Matlache we can recommend, not Bert's though.

We traveled by boat to this place for lunch and got there just in time as this place does a huge business! Bar food, mostly fried, but good none the less. We ate outside on a nice day, service was prompt and day was great. This place has been here forever and I'm sure has seen a lot of history. It was fun!
