We used The Crown Inn as a base to go walking for the weekend. On arrival we were met with great smiles and enthusiasm. We were promptly shown to our well-presented room that has been recently refurbished. Had a superb steak dinner and a good night’s sleep. Breakfast was set up for us in the bar. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. They are very dog friendly and we can highly recommend eating and staying here. We will be back..

Room Tip: It's in a very small village so there is almost no road noise .

We read the previous reviews and came for lunch after visiting Abbotsbury. What a find! A lovely thatched pub with a surprisingly modern and delicious menu. It deserves the term gastropub. The chef has put together some lovely flavours. The owner Ed and his brother made us feel welcome and we even met a couple of the local characters. I recommend Godfrey's goats cheese and onion tart (there is a story behind it) and the Tuna steak on a bed of quinoa salad was excellent. The fish and chips looked lovely and we were so full we couldnt try the lovely puddings and so had good coffees instead. We also loved the Domaine de Pellehaut Harmonie de Gasgogne 2016 Rose wine. An excellent experience and a fab lunch. We'll be happy to bring others here again.

Came here with a group of walkers in early March. We had booked a table for 12 for lunch.
Staff greeted us and made us feel really special. They had put together a large table for us and were extremely attentive.
The food was absolutely excellent and very good value. This was accompanied by a selection of well kept ales and ciders.
What a gem.

Proper little gem, well worth a quick diversion off the coast road.
We were there on quiz night which had a real village atmosphere and we were made most welcome. The food and beer were excellent as was our newly refurbished room.
Lovely continental breakfast.
In addition must point out that Ozzie, our dog, could not have been made more at home.
We’ll be back.
