“Charming”
Reviewed 31 July 2014 for a stay in May 2014

The pressing room was just perfect; a great place to unwind after a day out exploring the Jurassic coast. Situated on a working farm, the setting was ideal and everything from the furnishing down to the very well equipped kitchen made us feel right at home. The owner, Karen, was very helpful and provided us with fresh milk and eggs which was lovely.

“A relaxing stay in a very nice place”

My wife and I have just returned from a week in the Pressing Room at Broad Road Farm and enjoyed a very relaxing holiday.

The room is one of 4 studio rooms on the farm and, in my opinion, it is the best of the 4. Along with the Cider Room it has a south facing patio overlooking the countryside, the benefit of the Pressing Room though is that you don't park your car in front of the patio. The other 2 rooms are by the entry driveway and their patios face north into the driveway.

The room itself is well decorated, obviously they have been thoughtful and not skimped on the decor and furnishings as many holiday properties do, although it did lack a dishwasher and a DVD player that you get in most holiday properties these days. It was as clean as you would expect from a holiday property and also the milk, eggs and apple cake on arrival were very welcome. The bed was comfortable, although we did take our own pillows as we usually do, and their was plenty of hot water at any time.

The property is out of Bridport so you do need the car (or bikes) to get anywhere but there is plenty of places to visit and good walks around the coast.

I would definitely recommend this place.

“Beautiful peaceful barn”

We needed a peaceful weekend away from our young children and work and this was just the place. A beautiful barn conversion, very respectful owners who provided us with milk and eggs on arrival. Very clean and comfortable with a well kitted out kitchen so we could cook our own food. Only thing that would have really topped it off would have been a bath, but the shower was really powerful with constant hot water, so not a problem really. Wifi option might have been handy too, but it was quite nice to turn off the technology and relax. We took our own laptop to play dvds.

“Cider Room- an excellent studio, comfortable and stylish”

We stayed in the Cider Room for 4 nights and would have liked to have stayed longer. The fixtures and finishing s were first rate and everything was thought of to make for a very comfortable stay. It is perfectly situated for all the surrounding delights Dorset has to offer and the owners were not intrusive at all but very welcoming on arrival. The cakes, tea, coffee, milk and eggs supplied for our arrival were a lovely touch and we will definitely stay here again in the future.
